Torres del Paine is amazing, the mountains are really almost unreal in their beauty. Distances are far even to get to different places within the park, but the views along the way are stunning and its to be expected. The trails are well marked and there are many options. There are opportunities for hard core hikers and adventurers as well as those who might only do day trips or short walks for the views. We will definitely go back.
My husband and I went to the Torres del Paine National Park in March 2020. It was such a large and wonderful national park! So much to see and experience! We love the six days we spent there. On the first day we went on a 10 hour hiking tour to the three towers. It was raining and took us more than 10 hours round trip, very tiring. The rest of the days are clear, we can see the big horns so clearly from our hotel- Vista the Paine. We then went to the Salto Grande, many mirados near the lake Pehoe and the Glacier Grey. We took many photos. The only negative is that there is no gas station in the park, we nearly ran out of gas on the second day. Fortunately the park ranger helped us to find another hotel where they provided us with 20 litters of gas. I would recommend this part to anyone interested in Patagonia!
My wife and I stayed in the national park for 6 days- the park is huge, a lot of beautiful viewpoints including the Salto Grande, and big horns and the three towers /Torres del Paine. But the roads in the park are all gravel roads very bumpy and hard to drive on. You cannot drive fast and it consumes a lot of gasoline. There is no gas station in the park! You 'd better bring extra gas in 20 litter buckets if you plan to stay longer than 1-2 days. We ate at the Pampa restaurant in Rio Serrano village. It is an excellent restaurant! We went on a one-day hike to the Torres del Paine but it was raining. It took us more than ten hours -very long and difficult one, especially when the weather is bad. You'd better be fit and prepared with hiking poles, multi-layers and rain gears.
The park offers incredible outdoor recreation activities and the scenery is stunning. It is a very popular place so expect crowds in the easiest to access areas. If we had more time there, we would have explored some of the less traveled areas of the park.
We visited in January for 8 days. Wonderful view. No food, no gas station within 85 km, no paved roads in the park, leaving dust over everything, probably far more damaging to the environment. Trails are sparse and located in different corners of the huge park. If you do the W, and do it daily without reservation that is 4 separate trails, accessible from 2 different locations. We stayed 8 days and on the last 2 days we were straining to find new trails. We stayed at Rio Sorrano Hotel at one of the southern gates in a beautiful but overpriced hotel. Visiting Lago Amarga or Lago Azul took 70 km each way. Several tracks, such as Rio Pingo, Mount Ferrier, Lago Grey, Lago Sarmiento, are only with guides and prior booking. Weather is TOTALLY unpredictable, could be sunny, rainy, seriously windy, freezing, foggy, icy, the same afternoon on the same trail. Winds up to 100 km/hour howl making tracking really dangerous. All in all, 4-5 days would have been sufficient. Trails you must do: Lago Grey to glacier, Torres Base Camp, Salto Grande Waterfall, around Lago Pehoe.
Torres del Paine is stunning! We enjoyed all the park had to offer including hikes, boat rides, camping and luxury accommodations at times. The roads are gravel, so expect some slower travel, dust and potholes. It is a bit expensive when in the park. The grey glacier boat ride was a great way to see the glacier and icebergs tho a bit pricey but worth it. We loved taking the boat across Lake Pehoe and hiking the French Valley.
Torres del Paine
We had a flat tire in Torres del Paine. The host was very caring and helpful: he helped us getting to the nearest city, and to find a repair service even though it was a holiday. These couple of days were the low point of our trip, and the staff in this hotel did everything they could to make it better, which is greatly appreciated. Sadly, we had to leave the hotel before we actually stayed there, so we cannot comment on its location and facilities.
Torres del Paine
The food was excellent! We traveled to Chile , Argentina & Uruguay and this was one the best foods we had. We were also celebrating a birthday and the dessert provided was excellent! The location, the interior, the showers, the ambience- everything was top notch! We went off season so it was just us and a couple in the entire hotel so it was great! I’ll be returning and recommending this place to everyone I know planning on doing this trip.
The location is wonderful and the view from common area is breathtakingly beautiful. the ranch where the hotel occupies is on a very good location looking out to the lake and Mountains. The exterior of the hotel looks a bit worn down as the wood panels of the building possibly were not treated since they were built but it doesn’t affect insulation of the room at all. SPA facility is a good brownie point as well
Torres del Paine
Alisandra was an amazing host. Her english was perfect and she was thorough in explaining what to expect living on the ranch, how to make reservations for some activities in the National Park, getting us fuel when we ran out of gas, and always including us in their dinner menu plans. One of us were vegetarian and they happily accommodated our special dining needs.
Torres del Paine
The location was fantastic! Right outside the entrance to the Torres Del Paine National Park!! It is a hostel, which I have not stayed in for a while but it was comfortable during the day. A bit cold at night when you have to get up :) Breakfast was sparse but but OK. Coffee and tea all day long was well appreciated!
Torres del Paine
Everything about this place was exactly what I could've wanted and/or needed for two nights in Torres del Paine. Patrick and Simón are a great hosting duo, and they treat every guest like a personal friend. I hope to return someday - cannot recommend them highly enough!
Torres del Paine
Awesome view of the National Park Torres del Paine, the cabin is warm and cozy. In the morning you can hear the birds and cows grazing nearby. The location is a few miles from the park entrance. If you like fishing, you can do it just next to cabins site, a few steps away.
We liked everything at Hotel Torres del Paine. The location is great. The views exceptional. Staff very helpful and attentive. Breakfast was delicious. The food at the restaurant was very good. The drinks at the bar were my favorites.
The staff was very friendly and the whole hotel had it's own style with some self-made wood pieces. The landscape around the hotel is amazing with a view to the nice mountains.
