We stayed outside of Quepos which I would recommend. Quepos is an authentic town to shop and eat at. We loved walking around to explore and eat. We liked the market for the shopping and the coffee shop! We were able to walk around Quepos very easily and get back to the bus downtown no problem.
The city is not big, quite busy, there are a few restaurants (some crazy expensive) and shops. Manuel Antonio Park, on the other hand, is completely overrated. I haven't seen such a crowded place in all of Costa Rica! I am disappointed and angry that I had to travel such a long way to get to an uninteresting place. I do not recommend!
The last point of our trip. So many great things we have seen. But at the end of this incredible nature, do you have to experience this greed for money along the road to the national park? No! Just keep stopping in this country and be amazed. Quepos is not a MUST.
Quepos is super crowded and to pricy for what it offers! If you want to find some nice place nearby Quepos just have a short ride with a car and go south of Quepos to find some nice and lonely beaches!
Quepos, is right next to Manuel Antonio. I found it to be a cheaper stay than staying on the strip to the beach/park. Theres public transportation from quepos to manuel which leaves frequently. The food in town is great! With amazing prices. Found it Ideal for backpackers. Theres a few secret view points in town.
Choice of eating out venues wasn’t great. Seafront and harbour were nice, but no beach to sit on by the main town. Plenty of ATMs! Manuel Antonio has much more to offer. Good bus service and plenty of taxis. Great sunset from the beachfront.

Our stay at Miguel’s Surf Camp was amazing. Miguel and his wife Pilar are extremely friendly, accommodating and welcoming. The place was created with love and effort. The experience is very authentic and there’s a familial atmosphere. This place is simple but still clean and beautiful and directly situated at the beach. If you want to learn how to surf I can highly recommend taking classes that Miguel offers. Also, the food is extremely delicious, healthy and Costa Rican. I would definitely go back and can highly recommend this place.
The hotel is created in a fun and creative way. From the various decks, to hanging nets, along with the awesome upstairs bedroom/terrace, downstairs pool, and communal kitchen. The layout provides great opportunities to meet other guests and also give privacy when needed. Morning instructive yoga with other guests was amazing. Out of our 4 weeks in Costa Rica, this was our favorite place by far. Esteban and Zack make you feel welcomed and truly at home throughout the stay.

We absolutely loved our stay at Kiskadee Casa. the location in the hills was spectacular. We especially loved the monkeys, toucans and so many other interesting animals who were around every time we sat outside to watch. The house was so well equipped and comfortable for a family (3 kids ages 9-14) the pool was perfect, the staff were all very helpful. we visited Manuel Antonio, Uvita, and Dominical all very easily.
Quepos
The centrally located apartment was big and very clean. The well-stocked kitchen has a large prep area and a cozy kitchen table. The bedroom has a comfortable bed and lots of shelves. There is a living room to unwind after a long, humid day at Manuel Antonio. The bathroom has hot water and there are strong ceiling fans throughout the house. Arianna is very friendly and helpful; she welcomed me when I arrived.
Quepos
I was welcome by a warmth welcome and Dylan took time to explain me all. The room is big, beautifully decorated, clean. I absolutely loved it. I have moved a lot in Costa Rica and this hotel is on my top list ! The swimming pool is great, the breakfast generous and again the staff amazing. I regretted to stay only one night as I really felt good there. Very good quality and you are treated very well.
Quepos
Pura Vida guesthouse is a great place to stay in Quepos! It is relaxing , clean, and in a quiet neighborhood that also has a lot of wildlife. Jorge and Pamela are so wonderful and go out of their way to help answer any questions. It is a bit far from town and the beach and is easier to get to with a car, but there are also many ways to get around. I thought the great neighborhood was a highlight.
I absolutely loved this little gem in Quepos. It’s close to the bus station so you can quickly get to destinations between quepos and Manuel Antonio easily. My room was clean and the decor is minimalistic and cute. I loved the sitting area for the restaurant. the breakfast was really good as well. The staff was kind of dry but really helpful with any requests and questions that I had.
Clean and spacious room with comfortable beds is amazing. The owner Yesie is so friendly and helpful, very easy going. A good seafood restaurant across the road, too. The pool is not big but it's very clean and relaxing, and good speed internet, TV with English channels and the bathroom with a big shower head, hot water. I always stay there everytime in Quepos.
Great apartments! The best we had so far in Costa rica. Incredibly clean, the staff clean the room on a daily basis, change the towels, clean the kitchen in the apartment. We were very happy with the kitchen, well supplied, comfortable and clean - we had a toaster and a microwave as well and it was great. The room is very big and comfortable
Nice spacious room but it was located next to the swimming pool where is loud music on until 10pm so if you need to have a rest or go to sleep earlier that’s not the right place to go. Unfortunately there was no warm water in the bathroom. The hotel is located a 10 minute drive from Quepos. We enjoyed the food - was really tasty.
Quepos
Quepos location perfect. Owners welcoming, kind and very helpful. Supermarket around the corner. Whole town within easy walk. Antonio 355 colones bus ride. Marina upscale. Iguanas crossing path. That was new..There is a reading light /outlets next to bed. Good wifi. Fan in room. Home stay was a new experience for me.
Quepos
The hosts are so so nice and helpful! Just absolutely loved them. and the space is kept clean and really cute. I like staying in the village rather than a tourist area to get a more authentic experience. It's a great place to stay if you're passing through or doing some diving in Quepos as I was :)
Quepos
The size of the bedroom, bathroom, kitchen and living space. The bathroom and the entire place is only shared with 2 other bedrooms, so it was pretty easy to do. The kitchen has everything you need. The entire place was always clean. The swimming pool is relatively big and a big plus in Manuel Antonio.
Quepos
Very nice apartment in a Costa Rican neighbourhood, off the beaten track. Well equipped kitchen, clean house and air-conditioner, comfortable sofa and armchairs
Quepos
