We felt right at home at this fun and unique family hotel. There is so much do to both at the hotel and around the area of Quepos. This place is perfect for travellers wanting a funky, playful, and relaxing experience. Staff helped us arrange for tours to Manuel Antonio park easily. Breakfast in the morning was always amazing and is vegetarian friendly. Hotel also has laundry services! Highly recommend Villas Jaquelina!

Mountain Top Park Hotel is like living in Manuel Antonio National Park but better. It is at the top of the mountain as its name suggests, with unparalleled 360 degree views of Costa Rica, but just a 10 minute drive to the entrance of the park. You receive a free nature tour of the park that takes you through their multiple hanging bridges and nature trails. On my amazing one on one tour with Jose, we spotted capuchin monkeys, squirrel monkeys, a sloth literally 10 feet away from us in a low lying tree (far superior to the park, where it's going to be 25 people around you staring up a 100' tree squinting), toucans, iguanas, falcons, and endless butterflies. My time at the hotel was definitely the highlight of my trip to Manuel Antonio, and a far better and more personal place to admire the nature and wildlife than the park.
The rooms all have great balconies overlooking the tree canopies with great wildlife sightings. Please note there are rock stairs to each room, some rooms have multiple stairs required. On top of the hanging bridges in the treetop canopies and the nature trails, there is zip lining, massages, and private tours offered both during the day and at night.

The room was spacious. Courteous staff. I learnt that week day breakfast was by the menu which was good, but the portions were HUGE! Week end was buffet, and it was so so. But the nice part was that they did cook pancakes from the menu even on the weekend for us which was kind!

Quepos is a good central location from which to do all manner of activities. I love the farmers market on Friday PM/Saturday AM. Scuba diving is just okay as the visibility even in the dry season is limited. Check out the farm tour at Villa Vanilla (they can pick up from Quepos if you don't have a car) and the bus to Manuel Antonio Park (worth the hype but buy your tickets online before you go) and all the attractions along the way is only 380 colones.

We stayed outside of Quepos which I would recommend. Quepos is an authentic town to shop and eat at. We loved walking around to explore and eat. We liked the market for the shopping and the coffee shop! We were able to walk around Quepos very easily and get back to the bus downtown no problem.

The city is not big, quite busy, there are a few restaurants (some crazy expensive) and shops. Manuel Antonio Park, on the other hand, is completely overrated. I haven't seen such a crowded place in all of Costa Rica! I am disappointed and angry that I had to travel such a long way to get to an uninteresting place. I do not recommend!

The last point of our trip.
The last point of our trip. So many great things we have seen. But at the end of this incredible nature, do you have to experience this greed for money along the road to the national park? No! Just keep stopping in this country and be amazed. Quepos is not a MUST.

Quepos is super crowded and to pricy for what it offers! If you want to find some nice place nearby Quepos just have a short ride with a car and go south of Quepos to find some nice and lonely beaches!
Nice Hostel - clean, spacious with many chill areas, a beautiful yoga / workout area and a well equipped kitchen.
The host and the staff are very friendly and supportive, giving you many insights about the surroundings and activities. The hostel provides a well-informed online travel guide that helps you organise your stay.
We really enjoyed having breakfast on the beautiful terrace. So far Villas Jaquelina was the best stay in Costa Rica. 100% recommended!
It was our second stay during the Costa Rica journey. The apartment is very clean, tidy and comfortable. The owner is very helpful and very respectful. She gave us enough space and was very friendly. The check in was very easy and at the check out she helped us with the taxi. Although it is a share bathroom it was very clean and the shower worked very well. We can highly recommend this beautiful spot for your stay in Quepos.
Perfect location and very nice and helpful staff. Really close to bus station and all the interesting places in Quepos.
The price is good for what they offer. Better than more expensive hostels around Costa Rica.
