clean, tidy, modern city with top class facilities, a few great museums, excellent international eateries at surprisingly low prices. History is there, wherever you go especially in the old walled part of the city. What I disliked in tavernas is the fact that no house wine is served,( like in Greece where you can order half or one litre,) and thus they oblige you to go for bottled wine, which is VERY VERY EXPENSIVE, for inexplicable reasons.....otherwise Nicosia is a very interesting city and convenient to drive around...
Best attraction is definitely the archeological museum - displayed artifacts are in a great conditions and very different from what you can see in Europe or Turkey. Cypriot culture was very evolved. The negative feature of the city is enormous number of african immigrants in the center and around, most of time you see more Africans than Cypriots.
We were here for 3 great days and that was good for us. 1 day to explore the south side of the green line, 1 day to explore the north side of the green line and 1 to travel further north. It's an incredible experience being in a divided city, experienving extremely different cultures just by walking a few meters. Take your time, see it, and you'll learn so much.
Nicosia is one of the most interesting cities in the world. Although not large by territory or population, it is nevertheless a melting point of many cultures and an amazing combination of Greek, Turkish and British heritage.
Nicosia is city to visit for one - days. Citizens are very helpful and friendly. Nicosia has got good price of food, drinks and souvenirs, old town especially. Food is very delicious and coffee is great. On the other hand, it is not very clean city. Nicosia should be renovated and it should give tourist more to see. We weren't impressed with souvenirs, everything was fake and bad quality. We were looking for something authentic. To conclude, good cheap city to stay for 2 days as a station on your trip.
The city was bigger and more modern than we expected. Some beautiful areas with modern sculptures and fountains between the old and new sections. Loved the old town/new town concept. Very interesting history with the original old town wall, museums etc. Pity the Fairy Tale Museum was closed. Some impressive buildings in the new town and beautiful well-preserved old architecture in the old part. Border crossing into the Turkish side was easy but that side was disappointing and run-down with little sign of progress. A fascinating city to explore easily on foot.
Great location litterally next to Ledra Street.and Elefteria square. the hotel was charming a mix of old and new ..liked the hallway leading to the dining area as filled with antiques from cyprus and the dining room itself was good and had a smokers area in a additional sun room .. which kept my husband happy. The breakfast buffet was great and you can order a cooked breakfast.
Nicosia
Location--it was an easy 3- block walk to the Old Town, a 4 - block walk to the Cyprus Museum. I parked my car and never used it during my 4 day stay; I was able to walk everywhere. Apartment had lots of room(s) and kitchen was fully equipped for cooking and snacking. AND there was a washing machine in the apartment along with iron and ironing board.
Nicosia
My visit here couldn’t have been better. I was travelling alone visiting family and friends. The host and other staff were extremely friendly, welcoming and made me feel safe and comfortable. The location is ideal conveniently located 5 minutes from the shops and 10 from the city centre. The host went above and beyond for me and I’m very grateful.
Staff was super nice and helpful. Breakfast was ok, I loved that there were croissants and olive stuffed bread. Location is ok, just a couple blocks away from the old city centre and the bus station. Good wifi connection. One of the lightbulbs in the nightstand lamps was broken.
I liked the human interaction with the staff and owners. Very Good Location. Spacious rooms, kitchen and living. You have all what you need to have a great stay specially their is a cute park behind the Hotel.

My host, Andy, was great. He is very easy going. For example, he organized and paid for a small New Year’s dinner for the five guests and himself. I will definitely contact him next time I come to Cyprus.
This is a great hotel to stay if you want to be close to the city centre and the relevant sightseeing. Staff was super friendly and there to help with health problems that arose during my stay in Cyprus.
Hotel location was very good, only few steps to the main streets of Nicosia old town. Breakfast was very delicious, with a lot of different options and home made coffees. Staff were very professional.
Friendly, kind and helpful staff. Made the adjustments that we requested (early check in, late check out, double bed). The lower price compared to other indeed 4 star hotels is justified.
Nicosia
I liked the stable WiFi provided in the rooms and the location of the hotel. It was very close to the city centre and the market so it was easy for us to navigate to the city on foot.
Just next to the busstation this is a great hotel, if you like it cheap. Everthing in the old town is a walk away. If you want fancy, this is not your place
