MAP Boutique Hotel, Asty Hotel, and Almond Business Hotel got great room view-related reviews from travelers in Nicosia.
clean, tidy, modern city with top class facilities, a few great museums, excellent international eateries at surprisingly low prices. History is there, wherever you go especially in the old walled part of the city. What I disliked in tavernas is the fact that no house wine is served,( like in Greece where you can order half or one litre,) and thus they oblige you to go for bottled wine, which is VERY VERY EXPENSIVE, for inexplicable reasons.....otherwise Nicosia is a very interesting city and convenient to drive around...
Best attraction is definitely the archeological museum - displayed artifacts are in a great conditions and very different from what you can see in Europe or Turkey. Cypriot culture was very evolved. The negative feature of the city is enormous number of african immigrants in the center and around, most of time you see more Africans than Cypriots.
We were here for 3 great days and that was good for us. 1 day to explore the south side of the green line, 1 day to explore the north side of the green line and 1 to travel further north. It's an incredible experience being in a divided city, experienving extremely different cultures just by walking a few meters. Take your time, see it, and you'll learn so much.
Nicosia is one of the most interesting cities in the world. Although not large by territory or population, it is nevertheless a melting point of many cultures and an amazing combination of Greek, Turkish and British heritage.
Nicosia is city to visit for one - days. Citizens are very helpful and friendly. Nicosia has got good price of food, drinks and souvenirs, old town especially. Food is very delicious and coffee is great. On the other hand, it is not very clean city. Nicosia should be renovated and it should give tourist more to see. We weren't impressed with souvenirs, everything was fake and bad quality. We were looking for something authentic. To conclude, good cheap city to stay for 2 days as a station on your trip.
The city was bigger and more modern than we expected. Some beautiful areas with modern sculptures and fountains between the old and new sections. Loved the old town/new town concept. Very interesting history with the original old town wall, museums etc. Pity the Fairy Tale Museum was closed. Some impressive buildings in the new town and beautiful well-preserved old architecture in the old part. Border crossing into the Turkish side was easy but that side was disappointing and run-down with little sign of progress. A fascinating city to explore easily on foot.
I stayed here as there is a lack of good quality hotels in Nicosia. I actaully stayed in the Hilton twice in the past month so this review reflects both visits. The best thing about this hotel is the reception, restaurant and gym staff who are really lovely. The room was a good size, the pool area is large (but souless), the gym is good for a hotel gym but it is also for paying members so was typically very busy and loud. The breakfast was very good but things ran out the later you arrived. Again the staff at breakfast were superb.
Nicosia
Lovely place for accomodation. The interior is it seems that every staff is taken from friends, parents homes and brought to the hotel. It looks charming. The location is good, the old town is just there. Internet ok. Warm watter ok. Bed ok. TV did not tried. On december when we were there was a free breakfast. It was a very basic. There is a free parking in the protected city parking.

My visit here couldn’t have been better. I was travelling alone visiting family and friends. The host and other staff were extremely friendly, welcoming and made me feel safe and comfortable. The location is ideal conveniently located 5 minutes from the shops and 10 from the city centre. The host went above and beyond for me and I’m very grateful.
The hotel location is absolutely perfect for shopping, food, restaurant, taxi and even bus station is about 5 to 7mins walk . The hotel free breakfast is absolutely delicious . Very helpful staffs at reception desk and they help me to print out my PCR report and passenger locator form. The taxi number given to me by hotel was very helpful.
Good location a few minutes drive from the city centre. Friendly staff upon arrival. Everything explained simply and quickly. Nice modern style inside, very clean. Room was bigger than expected with a comfy bed. The free breakfast was probably the best I've had in a hotel, superb. We will definitely be staying again.
