Set in the heart of the picturesque Ettal valley in the Ammergau Alps, this country-style hotel enjoys a peaceful setting and offers views of Ettal Abbey. The Hotel has definitely exceeded my expectations. The check-in experience was smooth and very friendly, welness & spa area has been fully renovated with the great saunas including Aufguss. Food in the restaurant is very tasty! Pet friendly! Totally Recommended for stay in Deutsche Alps.
This hotel in the Ettal monastery is a cozy base for active and relaxing holidays in the heart of the Ammergau Alps. This is a beautiful hotel. The staff were phenomenal and exceptionally welcoming. Room was comfy with terrific views and shower was powerful. We ate in the restaurant one evening, both dishes were lovely and breakfast was fresh and full of choice. All brilliant.
Offering an indoor pool and cottage-style rooms, this 3-star superior hotel enjoys a peaceful location beside a forest, just a 10-minute walk from Ettal Abbey. The hotel is very nice. Perfect for people with dogs-they have a big garden where dogs can play. The staff was very very nice and friendly. Good breakfast. I would deffinetly come back!

Located in Ettal in the Bayern region, with Ettal Abey nearby, Haus-Schneider-Sepp provides accommodations with free WiFi and free private parking. Nice apartment in a great location. Very clean and parking is directly in front of the property. Close to excellent restaurants and cafes and a 4 minute drive to Oberammergau and about 26 minutes to Garmisch. 6 minute drive to the alpine coaster. Great price!
This busy hotel has the feeling of a youth hostel. Rooms are simply but practically equipped. There’s a constant coming and going of tourists. Unfortunately, I couldn’t bring me dog to breakfast. I wasn’t told that outside it is possible. Breakfast was basic. Scrambled eggs came in squared chunks, thus probably defrozen. Lots of plastic (Marmelade, Butter,…) The whole personnel is polish. Everyone was very friendly and helpful, I had just expected a Bavarian host. All in all my stay here felt like holidays off an assembly line.
Beautiful town nestled in the mountains. The monastery is right at the bottom of the hill from the hotel and it’s conveniently located near Schloss Linderhof and Oberammergau. There were other hotels but we chose this one for the view AND based on the menus at other restaurants this was the best. We took a self tour of the monastery as well as bought beer from their brewery and cheese too. The hotel served the beer from the monastery as well as used it in some of their specialty dishes.
The location is beautiful with the mountains in the background. There is a lot to see in the area. The only unfortunate part was that we were between seasons and many restaurants and stores had limited hours or were closed.
Ettal is a great place for sight seeing and visiting castles etc. The one downside is the location. The weather can change very quickly, a sunny hot day can turn into a very wet and dower one in the blink of an eye. Looking over the valley when it is obscured by clouds and rain can be a bit disheartening. If your looking for wall to wall sunshine then this is not the best choice.
Very wonderful village and the surrounding mountains are stunning. For anything longer then 3 day stay though, a bike is essential to being able to get to the surrounding towns for groceries and such. The attractions in Ettal are far more then one would expect with such a small population, but the business hours on google are not to be trusted as they change with the seasons and holidays.
Ettal can be considered as economy class stay for those who want to ski in Garmisch area and do not object to travel 15 - 25km to reach the central ski lifts. Cross-country tracks are available directly in Ettal. Seems promising for hiking trips in summer. Although the town itself is an example of typical Bayern architecture, there are not so many places to visit except the monastery. People are friendly, especially in small shops and will tell you local stories even if you don't buy anything.
We had a very pleasant stay at Ethiko. The owner was extremely friendly and helpful, and the rooms were comfortable for our family of five. Breakfast was perfect to start our day. 15 minutes to Garmisch attractions and also close to the Ettal Abbey and Oberammergau...neither should be missed!
I scored a great price for my one-nighter at the Blaue Gams, spent quality time in the SPA, had fabulous dinner at the excellent restaurant and was allowed to stay and work in my room until midday. What more can you ask for. Thank you. I will be keeping an eye out for the next special deal.
Nice apartment in a great location. Very clean and parking is directly in front of the property. Close to excellent restaurants and cafes and a 4 minute drive to Oberammergau and about 26 minutes to Garmisch. 6 minute drive to the alpine coaster. Great price!
Free parking space. A washing machine and dryer. Good equipped kitchen. Contact with the hosts was only digital, but quick and friendly response. Ettal is a nice village and a good starting point for walking paths.
hotel is so expensive for what it offers. They even charged an additional city tax which they claimed was not included in the price already paid.
The breakfast was good, the hotel location was stunningly beautiful. We didn't have much interaction with the staff.
Nice location, nice hotel and kind staff.
