Marco and Theresa run this place with an eye for service and quality. The food (we booked half board) was excellent every day, and they'd drop us at the piste and pick us up again every day because the snow conditions didn't allow ski in, ski out. One day, we needed to be somewhere early for lessons, and Marco took us to a hard to reach spot on his tracked quad. It's a lovely place on the mountain with fresh eggs every morning from their own chickens.

This is such a charming hotel. Very clean too. The German chalet design was lovely and we got an amazing balcony room with a stunning view of Zugspietz (the highest mountain in Germany). It literally looked like a post card and pictures didn't do the view justice. Delicious breakfast buffet and only a couple blocks to walk into the adorable town. I highly recommend this hotel!

At the foot of Zugspitze, Germany’s highest mountain, Garmisch-Partenkirchen is one of the country’s top ski resorts. The Bavarian style of its Alpine chalets includes beautiful flowers lining every balcony, and colourful frescoes adorning the outsides of houses.
The varied skiing and snowboarding in the surrounding Alps is based mainly on blue and red runs. To ski on the Zugspitze glacier you take a train up to the mountain then a cable car down to the slopes. The summit itself offers magnificent views of the valleys below, provided you’re lucky enough to get a break in the clouds.
Garmisch-Partenkirchen is a former host of the Winter Olympics and the World Alpine Ski Championships. It also has a ski jump that forms part of the world cup of that sport. In summer hiking is the most popular activity and a lengthy route leads up to King’s House on Schachen, a supposed castle that looks more like a house.
It was built for Ludwig II, the eccentric king behind the region’s most impressive castle – Neuschwanstein to the north-west of Garmisch. The road between them passes by Oberammergau, famous for its 10-yearly Passion Plays.

Plenty of restaurants in both parts but if you want shopping there is a better range on the Garmisch side.I found it very easy to get around as I enjoy walking. There are many signposted footpaths on the surrounding hills. For a longer stay you can visit other places by train.I took a half hour journey over the border to Austria to get a view of the other side of the mountain.

We just did a long weekend.
We just did a long weekend. We stopped at Neuschwanstein and the Bavarian Kings Museum on the way into town. The museum was fantastic. We did Linderhof the next day to compare the two castles. We thoroughly enjoyed walking the gardens and the little museum in the cottage on the grounds. Then we headed back in time to have a quick stop at the Ettal Monastery and have a Windbeutel at the Berggasthof Almhutte. On our last day, we were able to join the walking tour of Garmisch. I highly recommend it. Then we were able to hike the Partnach Gorge before heading home.

Great town to explore the area from!
Great town to explore the area from! The two main streets (one for Garmisch and the other for Partenkirchen) are sweet and nice to walk around. The town is centrally located to tour the area, it can be done with public transportation, but using a car is much better. We spent 4 days in the area, and could have easily spent much more.

We were in town for the trail running event ZUT.
We were in town for the trail running event ZUT. The inner city of Garmisch is very lively and has plenty of stores and restaurants. Around the city you can go to many different hiking / nature areas. You can use the buses and trains to get access to the main hiking trails or city center. For car access everything is perfectly doable as well although parking is a bit more expensive.

This is our third trip to Garmisch-Partenkirchen and we still love it. The Mountain views are incredible! We like the area, because of its central location. It’s a good launching pad for Neuschwanstein Castle, the Zugspitze, and the Biergarten Alpenblick in Uffing. The town is quaint, yet lively! Many restaurants have live music, and one evening there was a really good street band making their way up and down Ludwigstraße. It’s a beautiful little town!

I highly recommend this accommodation. Located on a beautiful main street, the rooms are classic and comfortable. I shared bathroom (which was very clean and in good condition) but there was a little sink in the room which I found quite convenient. The staff is wonderful, attentive and friendly. The hotel has a classic german restaurant just downstairs which is quite convenient. The breakfast is exceptional! On my last day, they prepared a lunch-box for me because I had to leave before breakfast time. Great experience, I'll be back!
Hello, I travelled Garmisch-partenkirchen on weekend, it was leisure trip. The room was clean, cosy and we had a nice view from the balcony. It was easy to reach hostel with bus line 1 & 2(Bus stop Skistadion). Due to some maintenance the lock of rooms where not working and hence property offered us good discount on the room rent. They also offered us morning coffee/tea token(2 EUR per person). Host was well mannered. Common kitchen and living room were clean and comfortable.
A lovely family run hotel in a great location within Garmisch-Partenkirchen. You could not ask for anything better. Very comfortable beds, modern rooms and bathroom, great views, an outstanding breakfast. The family owners and staff could not do enough for you. A great outside seating area to enjoy the drinks from the honesty bar. Our stay was definitely memorable in every way as we celebrated our 25th wedding anniversary in this fabulous place.
Overlooking the mountains, a fabulous view from the balcony. Friendly and efficient staff. Hotel restaurant does a good set-menu dinner (but i read it is closing soon). Location is good if you are going to Garmisch classic or Zugspitze.
