The hotel is in the middle of a bustling market district and thus was very noisy in our streetside room in the morning. The restaurant áreas were not close and required a cab but we found good and affordable food on Venezuela Street. Espresso shops were 15 to 20 minute walk away.

The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. They went out of their way to get us two rooms close together. A special thanks to Adrian! Also, the breakfast was good - there were a couple choices to choose from.

    The reception area looked impressive but that is where it ended. The room ( one of the expensive ones) had not been updated in Approx 30 years and it looked like a bad handyman built it. The cleanliness was really bad. Basically the whole place needs a major renovation or to be bulldozed and rebuilt. Steak at dinner was ok. Breakfast sub standard. People working there friendly and wanted to please. If this is the best hotel in town I would hate to see the worst.

    Well, if you must stay in Santo Domingo, you sure don't want to pay a lot. This was a fair price. The wifi was solid. The front desk person was excellent, met me at the door and insisted on carrying my bag. If you can avoid Santo Domingo, I would. I was out exploring, I went so you don't have to. There are no good restaurants in walking distance that I could find. That's not the hotel's fault. AC worked well. Hot water in the shower was good.

    Very large sprawling hotel on beautiful gardens in central Santo Domingo. Bit of an oasis from the hustle and bustle of the city and a nice swimming pool. Very spacious rooms and nice showers in at least the newer ones.
