Set in a landscape of great natural beauty, surrounded by the river Umia, this traditional rural hotel features lots of charm. Relax in the spacious, light and tastefully decorated rooms. this place is absolutely incredible! We got a taxi from in town. We are walking the Camino DeSantiago. The hotel paid for a taxi when we arrived. It is difficult to describe the beauty of this place. The grounds are incredible. The swimming pool is fed by a river. It is not heated, but would be wonderful in the summertime. There is every attention to detail in this place. We ate dinner and had amazing steak. The breakfast is included with your stay, and is a maid to order omelette, Buffay. The rooms are Qwaint and individualized. We will definitely be back!

Caldas de Reis is a regular stop-over on the Camino Portuguese. The main square with palm trees is lovely. There are cafes and you can sit there have coffee and enjoy, I only made a one night stop so can't really say much more.
We only stayed in Caldas de Reis as we were walking the Camino Portugese. We saw lots of things that'd been nice to further explore if we'd had a couple of days there....river, historic buildings etc.
it is a very quaint little town but the staff in 2 of the bars we went to were very rude. We left the first without ordering food because we found them so rude. In the second one the waiter was agressive. We did find a cafe beside the bridge with good breakfast and really friendly staff.
This is a small, charming property, located next to a river, among trees and close to a roman bridge. The property has been recently overhauled and is incredibly comfortable and friendly. Great location for walking. Staff at the hotel is very friendly and attentive. Prices are very accessible. This is worth a trip!
There was a lovely feel/atmosphere about Caldas de Reis. We had mass in the square at St Tomas Church at 8pm on sunday night. Then a pizza with the locals across from the church which was very cheap. On monday morning there was a small market in the town and everyone was so friendly. Really nice place to stay
Nice small town with plenty of shops, restaurants, and historical places to visit. Unfortunately, I was not able to soak myself in the thermal baths due to the open blisters on my feet. A good stop on the Caminho Português.
Caldas de Reis
Very clean room, with towels which is always a bonus! Enough space to store your luggage and offered a window to let the fresh air in. Very clean and the kitchenette was perfect to make breakfast and store some food. there are two full bathrooms that can be used which helped! Elevator was great. Amazing location to explore Caldas de Reis and close to all the main attractions for the Camino de Santiago.
Breakfast was amazing. The food delicious and big variety. Location is a plus. The hotel is beautiful even if the rooms looks a bit old. Reception staff friendly and tried their level best to attend our requests. Food during dinner was delicious and generously served.
