Friendly helpful staff. Enjoyed meeting other cyclists. Somewhat out of town but you can ride all over, not just via verde.

Spacious room and bathroom, excellent restaurant and friendly staff. Highly recommend staying here. We traveled by motorcycle so getting around was easy but it's not really a close walk to the town center.

El Saucejo is a lovely, typical Spanish town/village out in the mountains. It is quite windy in the mountains, but when it is very hot, the breeze is appreciated. Not many things to do locally if you have children. But, if you have a car, there are places to go. There is go-karting at Campillos, and a couple of lakes less than an hour drive away. It is a good area for exploring the mountains if you like to do some hiking. Eating was a little bit of a problem for us because we weren't exactly sure of what time the cafes and restaurant open for eating breakfast, lunch and dinner. We walked to a restaurant at 8pm that showed the opening times on google between midday and midnight, but it was closed. So we had to walk back to the town centre. It seems like the shops close at about 9pm and the places to eat open at about 9pm. There are a few bars open in the evening which offer tapas which were all very nice. But quite a few of the places were not open on Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday, so choice is sometimes limited. If you want to eat out in El Saucejo, you need to have a plan. If you don't know the Spanish way of life when it comes to eating times, then you could be disappointed...and hungry. My advice is to research and check before you go out to eat. The streets are quite narrow, and parking is mainly along the streets. Although we didn't have a problem, you usually need to find a parking space anywhere you can and walk a short way to where you are going or staying.
