What an interesting and beautiful place. We had a guided tour and enjoyed finding out all about the history of the place. There are lots of museums and historical sites and the surrounding scenery is magnificent. We ate out a lot and found a lot of places which were very reasonable in price and the food was good. It is a nice place to wander around - we will be coming back as 2 visits has not been enough.
Ronda is a great place to base yourself and for experiencing Spanish history and culture. There are many great walks and places of interest around the city. First port of call should be The Tourist Information Office by el Plaza de Torros. The surrounding Nature Reserves are wonderful and there’s plenty of hiking to be had. Take the mountain road to Malaga through El Burgo… fantastic scenery. Grazelema is definitely worth a visit as is Cueva de Pileta.
Wonderful Mountain scenery good restaurants nice walks good bus station and train station to malaga madrid good squares to sit in and relax i tersting history spanish civil war hemingway orson welles Bull fighting.
Ronda may not be for everyone. There are few "big ticket" sights to see and it's basically a small, fairly isolated rural town. Its most notable feature is a gentle charm in a geographically spectacular setting. While tourism has long been a pillar of the local economy, none of the locals I met seemed jaded or impatient. It would be very sad to lose this, so if you're not nice, please stay away ; - ). We had terrific midday tapas at Tapas Toro, seated at a sidewalk table perfect for people watching. Another great little spot is Bodeguita, run by couple Juan Pedro and Ana. Both are close to bullring. We had a very good 2-hour walking tour which I would recommend, just to get a better sense of what you're seeing, and enjoyed a FANTASTIC guitar concert (not to be missed) by Paco Seco at the San Juan Bosco House. Paco is incredibly talented as well as charming, which makes for an unforgettable experience. Ticket included time to tour historic house and savor glass of wine on terrace overlooking gorge. Everything you're likely to want to see is within walkable distance.
Beautiful sites to see but food wise unable to get a decent English breakfast , evening meals were basic unless you paid maybe over the odds for a decent restaurant meal . The big bug was the odour of petrol on the streets we visited , with the proximity of cars and in particular mopeds buzzing around the streets collecting and delivering food leaving their petrol/oil smell lingering while you ate your food.
Ronda is wonderful and worthy of more than one night. There are so many sights to see as well as excellent shopping. The views are superb. I recommend a walking tour arranged through the visitor information centre. There are many cafes, restaurants and supermarkets, all looking wonderful. The old town is very easy to walk around and it is not far to the new town either. I was surprised at how much Ronda had to offer.
We stopped off at Ronda whilst travelling around Andalucia. So happy I stayed at the Catalonia Reina Victoria. We stayed in a double room with Mountain View and the views were stunning. The room was very clean and decorated well. The Pool area was great and relaxing. Had the most buffet-style amazing breakfast, with plenty of choices catering to many dietary requirements. Welcome drink prosecco or orange juice. Short Walk to the main tourist area. 10-minute walk to the train station.
If you can, book this place! We had a perfect vacation in Ronda - Walking into this gorgeous hotel 🤩 is an experience. The staff was so welcoming and nice, and the room was amazing (beautiful, clean, with a huge bath tub). The location is perfect - Within 5 minutes walk there are beautiful view points and tons of restaurants (if you get a chance, check out Tragatá). The parking arrangement that the hotel offers is convenient, which is always great. Highly recommended!
This a fantastic old hotel that has been updated. We were unlucky in that our stay coincided with the COVID 19 outbreak. The staff were polite and helpful under very trying circumstances. Especially the housekeeping staff. The room has a gorgeous view and large patio. You can see the famous bridge and tops of mountains that ring the city. We would love to return to Ronda and this hotel.
Our room with a view was quite spacious, quiet and clean. The location is great, in the old town area and very close walking distance to all the sights including the walk down to views of the famous bridge. There was a lovely restaurant in the hotel; however we did not eat here during our stay. We appreciated nearby parking- approximately a 5-7 minute walk from the hotel.
Everything was excellent and for a reasonable price. The hotel has its own bar and cafe so its easy to get drinks and snacks whenever you want. Very impressed with the room, and particularly the TV which has all the international news channels as well as the Spanish programmes. The hotel in a good central location with all of Rondas attractions within walking distance.
The hotel is ideally located for accessing restaurants and main Ronda attractions. We appreciated the fact that parking was available on site (possibility as well to park in front of the hotel for ten minutes to bring in the suitcases), because we did not want to park the car in street parking. If you opted for breakfast do bear in mind that it will not start early.
Our room overlooked the Bull Fighting Ring in Ronda, which by the way is the first bull fighting ring in all of Spain. The city is beautiful and we walked everywhere from our room. The view beyond the bull ring was breathtaking. There is a jacuzzi and pool on the roof of the building as well. The bar was great and the staff outstanding.
Ronda
This was maybe the best apartment on our trip through Spain. The location is about perfect and Million dollar views throughout. Couldn't believe we had rented it for mere Euros. Loved walking around the gorge and finding our apartment from different views. Expected small and dingy from the photos but it was clean and spacious.
The hotel is located aside of Ronda, only few minutes driving distance from the city. Perfect for those who come by car (parking is available) and who wish to stay in a calm, small hotel. It has a nice and relaxing garden with a pool and a view to the surrounding mountains. The staff is very helpful and friendly.
Everything, the location is great, close to Plaza España and the main attraction in downtown. The hotel is very clean and have very strict covid free protocol. The hotel staff is very kind and offer very good recommendation about what to do in Ronda and where to eat.
Stayed here for three nights in this wonderful hotel. Nice location on the side of a hill with views over the outskirts of ronda en surroundings. Diner en lunch options are available and great honesty bar. beautiful pool and place to chill out. 15min drive to Ronda
The service was excellent. The location and facilities are good. There is parking around for free on the street. Otherwise you pay 11 euros with a closing parking due to their agreement with the hotel.
very romantic hotel in the green. Nice swimming pool and beer on tap. Very suitable for further excursions in the area. However, you need a car - it is a bit far to walk to Ronda.
Probably the best hotel I’ve stayed at in Spain. Highly recommend for anyone wanting to disconnect. This place is phenomenal.
Beautiful and clean hotel with excellent staff.
