Costa Dorada Thrills and Spills
Like all Costa Dorada resorts, Salou has a fantastic beach and fun water sports. But it’s the wide, palm-lined promenade that really makes it stand out. Boutiques and exclusive restaurants line its western end, while in the east the bay curves to a point where a sculpture leans out to sea. Head there for lovely views of the sandy beach and distant mountains.
Further round the coast towards Cap Salou the beach becomes rocky coves, while inland is PortAventura, Spain’s most visited theme park. This huge complex includes rides and roller coasters in themed zones, and a water park with slides, flumes and pools galore. Also here is Lumine, a golf club featuring 2 courses designed by Greg Norman.
Next door is Port Halley shopping center which also has a 3D cinema and bowling alley. The best shopping in Salou though is in the old town, where designer shops stay open until late.
Other Salou attractions include the dancing Font Illuminosa fountains, Bosc Aventura’s high ropes, and Aquopolis - a great water park for younger children. Although the town has plenty of arcades, clubs and bars, peace and quiet can be found.
Reus Airport is the nearest and it’s around a 20 minute drive from there to the apartments, B&Bs and hotels in Salou bookable on Booking.com.

We were able to get around -no bother I wish i had got more info about Bus Plana as it seems to be the way to get around for further destinations but maybe next time! We visited the Caribe water park, ferrari land and also rented bikes and cycled to Cambrils which has a bike land all the way and is a lovely short cycle. Salou is overrated.
Salou is overrated. The beach is fine in some parts, but there were cigarette butts in the sand. It's not the city's fault, but the lack of civility on the part of some users. The city should be cleaner, with fewer souvenir shops. Could have better restaurants and bars. They could improve the quality of the services offered.Guest review byELSA - 8.0

We love Salou it has so much to offer for my kids who love...
We love Salou it has so much to offer for my kids who love them parks and water parks. Our hotel was close to the beach, close to PortAventura and close to the water parks. There’s also a good selection of shops and restaurants.
