Wow, gorgeous historic building, fantastic renovation (and we are often critical of efforts to modernize historic buildings). I do not know why there are any negative reviews. Everywhere you look is beautiful. The bathroom was very posh; I took pictures, in the hopes of maybe building one like that for us one day. Lots of interesting original art in the building. We stayed on the night of a big fiesta in town, and I think the hotel was understaffed, but the woman on duty was very professional. She left a note at the front desk to use a phone to call, which didn't work for me. I assumed it was my language deficiency but it also puzzled Spanish guests who arrived at the same time. I think the "use phone" system could work fine, but needs a bit clearer directions. Breakfast was tasty, and we were grateful that it was available relatively early. The only thing I would suggest in this lovely hotel is that, for the price, it would be nice to have a small refrigerator in the room. There appears to be a restaurant in the building, but we did not get to try it.

    The place is very special, I do believe, along with Pope...

    The place is very special, I do believe, along with Pope Paul VI, John Paul II, Padre Pio and St Teresa of Calcutta that the apparitions were true. It is a little hard to get to, really need a car, but not impossible with public transport. If somebody wants peace and quiet it is tops. Doesn't have five star hotels and entertainment, but you don't go to Garabandal if that is what you are after. By the way the country side is absolutely beautiful.

    We travelled to San Sebastian of Garabandal because of the...

    We travelled to San Sebastian of Garabandal because of the Aparitions to the 4 little girls between 1961 - 1965 and wanted to visit Los Pinos, the place where some of them took place. Everybody should read about the important and apt messages La Virgen Maria gave to these little girls, "we must be good" and why. We met Jacinta and met so many amazing local people. I can't wait to visit again. A must go place. Montse
