United StatesThis is an outstanding B&B a couple miles outside of Arc-en-Barrois, well worth the extra walking off-trail for those on the Via Francigena. First, the hosts are wonderful, both in their welcoming and their cooking (dinner was magnificent; the breakfast perfect). Second, the house is stunningly beautiful. Third, the grounds and location are lovely, with livestock, horses, captive herds of Fallow Deer and Red Deer; there's a beautiful old chapel on the grounds that the hosts are restoring. The walk from the B&B to Langres on quiet country roads is easy and lovely (except for the steep climb to Langres itself.)
