A mesmerizing place that provides delights at every turn. This place is not recommended for people with mobility issues. Not only is it geared for people with the stamina to climb stairs and rather steep roads but the oppressive crowds make maneuvering, even for the able-bodied, difficult. One of the most beautiful locations of the French seaside, matched with one of the most spectacular Castle/Abby I have ever encountered. I would place this even with Neuschwanstein Castle in Bavaria. Absolutely stunning place with a very special Angelic energy. Would recommend everyone to go at least once in their life - however not very suitable for anyone with walking restrictions, buggies etc and at high season it is very busy. We only stayed a night, but that was enough to visit the abbey during a light and sound show in the evening. Dinner was at La Mère Poulard which was good but very expensive. There’s a reason why most visitors in summer camp in nearby areas and take the shuttle to MSM for day trips only. Great place to visit, easy to get to by parking in the main car parks and ideal to stay overnight in one of the hotels. Great to stay to avoid the massive queues everywhere once most people have gone off the island later at night. Our stay was marvelous.
Our stay was marvelous. I highly recommend the hotel and restaurant. The room was a bit dated, but who cares! -- The views were terrific. The staff was very nice about watching our luggage in the office while we visited the abbey, and the dinner and breakfast were excellent.Guest review byLinda
