Hotel in Luz-Saint-Sauveur
Located in the historic heart of the mountain village of Luz-Saint-Sauveur, this hotel close to shops and restaurants. The hotel is just gorgeous and has a lot of character. Both inside and outside, the hotel was very pretty and there was always something nice to catch your eye. The room was very spacious and had some storage as well as a few chairs etc. The breakfast was delightful with lots of choice. The staff were excellent - both very friendly and knowledgable about the area and (thankfully for us, as our French is rubbish) spoke english very well. Parking was not directly within the hotel, but this wasn't too problematic as there was a free carpark very close by, and also a side alley with more parking (which was even better). Very good location - right in town, but not noisy. A short and lovely drive to Gavarnie (which is truly unbelievable and an absolute must for nature lovers). Would highly recommend this place.

Located in Luz-Saint-Sauveur, Résidence les Balcons de l’Yse is in the foothills of Tourmalet and the Pyrenees National Park. We did a last minute ski trip weekend and found this place. Also the only hotel that accepted our dogs that weekend. After reading the reviews; I had a mixed feeling about this place. But it turned out to be great place to stay with family. great view and clean apartment. Staff are great and flexible. He waited for us as we reached at the place after 8pm. Mind you its not a hotel. so don’t expect a hotel service. they will provide you clean linens and towels in the apartment. So You have to do it up yourself. at the end of your stay, you have to put the dirty linens and towels in the laundry bag provided. which is not a problem for us. they also provided us welcome pack contained dish washing liquid, sponge, a dishwasher tablet & coffee filter to start your stay. its ok for a weekend stay. but if you are staying longer, please bring this along. NB: I brought my own swiffer mop. Call me crazy but as pet owner i know my dogs hair will be flying around in the apartment. It helps to lessen the cleaning of the apartment and avoid any extra charges. We definitely will be back again at this property. Thank You again for accommodating.

Beautiful views, great hikes. It was the shoulder season so much was closed. Be sure to arrive early enough and do the Cirque du Gavernie hike. Had dinner at La Terrace in town and the waiter recommended a special of the day of fish in an amazing sauce with potatoes. It was great.
Luz is a great base for a week of cycling the Tour de France routes of the High Pyrenees. We did 8 mountains on very good roads - fantastic routes with lots of climbing and beautiful nature. If you have one week just use Luz as your base. The village itself is pleasant, with a good selection of hotels, restaurants and shops (both practical shops and tourist shops). The main village centre has too much traffic for my liking, but the back alleys and streets are another world entirely. All in all Luz is an excellent base for all mountain activity holidays in the High Pyrenees.
beautiful town , plenty of restaurants - reserve early though - we were too lazy for that - and got "stuck" with pizza when we didn't. ( the pizza - bowling joint has great food and bar too , kids friendly too ) great weakly market all around the little streets , nice mountain atmosphere. great bakeries and grilled chiken places , heated communal pool and lots to sea and do. a good base town to the cirq de gavarnie.
Luz is great base to be for cycling the Pyrenees Cols. There are many famous routes to ride also there are many not so famous but just as good .Cycling up the lesser known Cirque de Troumouse is stunning and challenging too.The town itself is at the foot of the Col Du Tourmalet. Locals are very friendly. Also sat outside the cafes and bars in the cosy lite streets at night is very nice.
Great little town in the heart of an adventure area of the French Pyrenees. Being such a small town combined with European store/business hours, you need to time things right and plan ahead so stores are open and you can buy food, etc.
Nice little town with narrow streets. Have a drink at La Terrasse - the Ambree is great - and get bread and croissants from Les Boulangeries Des Gaves. Yum. Good starting point for the Cirque du Gavarnie and Toumouse.
Luz-Saint-Sauveur
Very comfortable, clean, well organised (C-19), place with friendly staff and a good swimming pool. To reinforce this previous comment I have just received an item of sentimental value that was mistakenly left in the room. A real reflection of the quality of this business. Val de Roland staff contacted me, arranged safe postage and could not have been more professional and helpful. I will definitely use Val de Roland again for a future trip that I am arranging. Thank you so much.
Amazing property and wonderful hosts. Great breakfast. Wonderful location. Amazing church outside the front door; several good hikes pass by the hotel (recommend hiking to Pont Napolean); and several good restaurants are nearby (recommend La Tosca, bookable on The Fork). Makes for a reasonably easy drive to Cirque de Gavarnie in the morning (roughly an hour).
Luz-Saint-Sauveur
Brilliant location, short beautiful walk into a really nice town. Luz Saint Sauveur good Nike shops and restaurants Natalie was brilliant. Well kitted out house, we were cycling the cols so the garage was really handy for our bikes. Good parking We’ve had a few cycle holidays , this was the best. Very much recommend
Though the area is beautiful, this hotel was about a 20 minute walk into the center of town for dinner, etc. There is a restaurant on site as well. The bathroom had been recently redone and was up-to-date. the building itself is old, but they seem to take care of it. Parking was on the road, nearby.
Breakfast was fine og friendly staff. Restaurant fine. Location and base for different sport activities summer and winter. We took many walking tours in the beautiful high mountains. We knew the hotel for a visit app. 15 years ago and a lot of work has improved the whole hotel considerably.
The personnel is super nice and always willing to help, the restaurant/ bar is a really good option if you don't want to move from the hotel. For the breakfast there were different options, including yammy croissants and pain au chocolat.
Luz-Saint-Sauveur
Every one at this hotel. We’re great very nice place to relax outside the confines of. The main Villlage 20 min walk BUT I cannot complain because the 15th stage of the Tour de France went by 10’ outside the door!
The town is a lovely place to walk round. The hotel is small with associated small rooms. Entrance on the ground floor is also available for us as a communal area for chatting / relaxing.
Luz-Saint-Sauveur
The apartment was light and well-appointed,,with a well-equipped kitchen and a spacious bathroom. The location was ideal, just a couple of minutes from the heart of Luz Saint Sauveur.
Friendly staff and great views but the hotel needs a massive investment to bring it to 2020 levels of comfort and design.
Luz-Saint-Sauveur
Very good location (cyclists), rooms are very basic, a bit old, but clean and decent. As we are cyclists we were not frequently in our rooms. The half pension (breakfast/diner) has all you need and especially in view of the price a very fair deal. The Spa is also a nice extra !
