Tigh na Leigh is a luxurious, boutique Guest House set in an acre of garden with a large pond. Free parking is available to the rear of the building. Amazing guest house decorated with very good taste and perfectly maintained. The hotel is located in Alyth town which is a perfect location to explore the area. The breathtaking Glamis castle is only 15 minutes by car, Blair Athol 50 minutes and Perth 35 minutes. Both Graham and his wife were attentive, did their best to make us feel at home, and gave us very useful recommendations regarding routes to follow and places to have dinner. The breakfast was high-quality with several options and cooked at the moment. Last but not least, the house has two very cozy and fireplace warmed saloons to have a drink or just relax after a day of sightseeing. Definitely we will come back!

Incheoch Farm Granary is located in Alyth and offers free bikes. The property is 19 miles from Dundee, and guests benefit from complimentary WiFi and private parking available on site. Had a problem with flies/bluebottles in the cottage when we arrived. Used fly killer supplied to kill them then picked up and disposed of them with kitchen towel. (Windows were open on arrival) Kept windows closed but 2 days later came back in afternoon to find another 15 to 20 in upstairs landing again so sprayed fly spray again and then disposed of the dead flies.

Ardormie Farm Cottage offers countryside accommodations near Alyth. Guests staying on this working farm can sit and relax on the terrace and enjoy picturesque views of the surrounding countryside. I liked the location of the cottage for walks right on the door step. Alyth is not far for nipping to get supplies (can even walk there from the house along the Cateran Trail). There are a number of coffee shop places within a short driving distance for day trips towards Glen Shee and Glen Isla. The views were exceptional from the patio and within the cottage. I personally liked being right in the middle of the farm but for those not used to the noise bring some earplugs, I liked being woken by cows bellowing. The cottage is well equipped with most things you would need for your stay and is cosy even on chilly days.

Alyth is a fantastic wee town. Lots of little shops, cafes, bars & a friendly bunch of town folk. Picturesque burn running through the centre. Lovely walks in the surrounding hills & Alyth Den. Golfing, biking, shooting & fishing for those who want to take part. Definitely would recommend.
Very pretty town with access to a number of walking routes into and around the surrounding countryside. Good selection of supermarkets so no need to venture further afield to buy provisions. We did not eat out (preferred not to due to Covid) so cannot comment on local eateries.
A nice little village with a Co-op for picking up supplies for a day out. Lovely walks and scenery around. Easy to get to the coast and over the mountains to Braemar. Not many places to eat so we ate wherever we visited, not a problem though as nowhere too far from Alyth.
Small friendly town with all the conveniences of a city within walking distance. Large Co-op and an award winning Fish & Chip Shop. A pizza delivery to your door. Easy parking if inclement weather.
The classic car restoration business is worth a 'nosey' in terms of the wonderful examples of their workmanship that may be parked nearby. The small museum (very helpful gentleman guide) also merits a visit so as to gain a better appreciation of the history of Alyth and the surrounding area. Nearby Meigle has a museum with historically significant Pictish stones on display. Many of the stones on show were recovered from the grounds of the neighbouring church. The display would be improved if the explanation panels were in languages in addition to English - so that foreign tourists could better share the significance of the exhibits.
Alyth is a lovely town with great walks the people are very friendly. The strathmore golf club has a fantastic restaurant which is a must , and Blairgowrie is just down the road and littles restaurant is a great fish place also a must if u like fish.

Due to COVID restrictions the host didn't meet us at the property but had been in contact before our arrival so we felt welcomed to the cottage. Excellent location just off commercial street and a very picturesque cottage. Well equipped kitchen. Large and very comfortable room and bed. Excellent shower and everywhere was spotless. The back garden with the trees and standing stones was a nice place to spend time. Alyth is a lovely town with everything you need. Lots of local walks and a great butcher's.

The welcome was cheerful and helpful; the bedroom and en-suite were both very spacious, comfortable and well equipped. Our breakfast was delicious - porridge, eggs benedict, sourdough toast with poached eggs, etc. etc. Well cooked and SO much better than standard hotel fare. Our evening meal was also excellent, as was the wine! The overall facilities were superb - two guest lounges (loved the 'Bee' wallpaper!) and a delightful garden. In essence: totally awesome!!!
The hotel is gorgeous, from common sitting area to dining room to breakfast room. The decorations have an old world charm. It felt like we traveled back in time. The hotel staff were extremely friendly and accommodating. We arrived late and started diner at 8:30. Soon we were the only ones left in the dinning room, but no one rushed us and patiently served every dish plus dessert. Food was amazing as well. We cannot be more satisfied with our stay.

Location was quiet and central. Shops (for essentials) very close by as was a hotel/bar. There was a choice of cafes/restaurants within 10 minutes drive. If you enjoy fish try Little's in Blairgowrie (10 minutes by car). Excellent food - a wee bit pricey - but well worth it and probably best to book.
