We were in the area for visiting family and friends. Barry is not your average holiday destination. Good for beaches if weather is good. The funfair on the Island would be good for thrill seekers. Not like the Fun parks of course. A fairly good base for touring the coastal areas, and Cardiff. Barry Island was nice, plenty for the younger children to do, not sure if there is enough for teenagers. There is an area if I remember called the "Shed Store" something like that, anyway it has a few food outlets a few Cafe's and shops and at least one bar, well worth a visit.
