We had an unplanned stop in Newport and came across this place in the booking.com app. They luckily had a family room available and are open 24/7 so we could check in when we arrived well after midnight. We were greated by very friendly staff and thst continued during our stay. At breakfast and at the front desk when we checked out (nice: check out possible until 11). The hotel was quite recently built and everything in the room was great (good shampoo and soap) We slept so well and recovered from and exhausting day perfectly. The breakfast buffet was phantastic. Fry up, croissant, cereal, fresh fruits. And the choice of coffees including in decaf. All presented by very helpful and friendly staff. There was a lot we didn’t even take advantage of: The bar downstairs looked well stocked. There was a beach bar outside. There was a swimming pool and spa available. And a kids‘ playroom. I would like to go there and wouldn‘t look for anything else.

We were there for a wedding at the International Conference Centre of Wales, and the facilities there were excellent. The food was good, there was dancing, speeches and cheers for the bride and groom. There was a DJ there whose decibels were above the permitted limit of 90 and the younger people there will find that they are deaf by the time they are 40. There seemed to be a Hotel called the Celtic Manor in the same grounds and the facilities there were excellent with two very striking wood Welsh dragons wrapped around two pillars and they were lovingly and beautifully carved. The hotel was too expensive for us, but the staff there were kind and efficient.

Unfortunately, due to the excessive Heat we couldn't venture too far,but when asking for directions etc, the people were so helpful and pointed us to the shortest routes, even the Taffic yielded to our benefit. Lovely friendly people. Would return, but to more Customer friendly accommodation.

I had a wonderful time in Newport.

I had a wonderful time in Newport. My favourite places were the beautiful waterfront, the city centre, and the peaceful parks, which were perfect for relaxing and sightseeing. I enjoyed eating at local cafés and restaurants, where I found a great variety of delicious meals and friendly service. Getting around Newport was easy. The public transport was reliable, and many attractions were within walking distance, making it convenient to explore the city. As a solo traveller, I enjoyed walking along the waterfront, visiting local shops, exploring historical sites, relaxing in parks, and trying different cafés and restaurants. Overall, Newport is a welcoming and enjoyable destination for solo travellers.

The staff at this hotel were friendly and supportive but the hotel was not up to my expectations. The cups were stained with toothpaste, the floor was cold, damp and dirty and it was situated on first floor after being assured of a ground floor room.

Beautiful building, exceptionally clean and spacious room. It was simply perfect. We were hesitant to have dinner at the restaurant after reading some reviews but we’re glad we did as the food was phenomenal! We are already planning our next stay at The Priory Hotel as our romantic getaway

The hotel is fine. Comfortable almost to standard of Premier inn as that was it's original intended brand. But nowhere near the level of cleanliness of the Prem inn. Good there is a contintal breakfast regardless of room rate.
