This place is exactly what we needed. A clean, comfy bed for the night. It's not plush with facilities or space but the staff were friendly, helpful and accommodating to our every want and need. The room was perfectly fine, but it was the staff that made the stay excellent.

Quite a bit of history in this area
Also Caerphilly castle
No1 fish and chips in uk there as well apparently

Great location for my family gathering.
Great location for my family gathering. Really enjoyed the mini golf. Food good in the restaurants but service variable- we ate at Rafters for a birthday meal. There were 14 of us and we had pre- ordered but the service was slow. The hotel rooms were comfortable and we had a view across the Severn.

The hotel isn't in Newport itself, therefore my review isn't for Newport. it's for a lovely little ancient village called Caerleon, with lots of Roman history including a museum and the remains of an Amphitheatre. We didn't go into Newport, but used the hotel as a base to travel up into the hills and valleys of Wales, which were absolutely beautiful. The Hotel is right on the doorstep of some stunningly beautiful scenery. It's a lovely drive to The Brecon Beacons from the hotel!

Very good modern hotel, it has only recently opened.
Very good modern hotel, it has only recently opened. Staff were excellent. Rooms were clean and well presented. Dined at Hotel restaurant for dinner and had the breakfast also. Food was of excellent standard. All staff were friendly and any query or issue was dealt with .Only negative was its location, not very easy for customers without cars to access places ( even near ones) due to have to cross about 4 busy dangerous roads . Ty Newport would benefit offering a shuttle bus service for customers to access places in Newport eg ICCW, Town centre, Train station.

Very disappointing night at this hotel would avoid at all costs. Stayed in room 1014 and was kept awake by the sound of a waste water pump constantly running. When complaining to staff on checkout I was inform this would be taken care of and an amount would be refund back to my account. This never happened! It’s not about the money I just wanted to have a place to sleep and not be kept awake by the sound of faulty equipment and plumbing.

There looked alot to visit on the guides...
This is a great family run hotel. Rooms are clean, with TV and tea and coffee making facilities. On arrival the young lady on reception was welcoming, cheerful and chatty. The staff are excellent and made us feel so welcome. After our day out we spent the evening in the hotel bar with the owner and met some of his family which was lovely and we felt we were welcomed with open arms. I will definitely be returning to this hotel the next time I am in Newport. Thank you all :-)
Everything. We had a late check-in as we had a function, reception was inviting, and the staff were welcoming and friendly. Rooms are spacious, and we were lucky enough to have a fantastic view, room 14/10. The bed was very comfortable, the shower was fantastic, lovely room. Good sized TV and the newport pictures around the hotel and mugs in the room are a nice touch.
I didn't get to try the breakfast unfortunately as i missed it. I did not wake in time for it so I can't comment on that but for a basic cheap hotel this was really nice. Comfy bed. Nice tidy room. Very good. Staff polite and lovely. Would definitely go again if needed. :)
We stayed here for the rugby in Cardiff, ideal location as the train station is only a minute walk from the hotel. In the centre of Newport so really close to all the bars & restaurants. All the staff were very friendly & the rooms were spotless.
