FAQs about hotels in Brighton & Hove

Colourful by Day and Night

Known for colourful nightlife and traditional English seaside pursuits, Brighton and neighbour Hove are the closest beach resorts to London, making them popular end points for classic car runs from the capital. Many end at the racecourse, a few streets from Brighton Marina, Europe’s largest, housing several shops and eateries. Many Brighton guest houses on Booking.com are also nearby.

Running along the beachfront is the world’s oldest operating electric railway, ending by Brighton Pier. Lit up at night and also known as Palace Pier, this city icon houses amusements and rides, and is one place to pick up some famous Brighton Rock, the confectionery sharing its name with an edgy Graham Greene novel set here.

A new addition, the Brighton Wheel is right by the pier, while one of its most famous attractions is the Royal Pavilion, a former royal retreat built in Indian style.

Just west are 2 of the most popular Brighton shopping spots – Churchill Square shopping centre and The Lanes with its narrow streets and unusual shops. This area also has several Brighton hotels with parking, and the Artists Quarter, a series of ex-fishing huts that are now galleries. The arts are a big thing here and Brighton Festival is the UK’s 2nd largest arts festival, while Brighton Pride is also a big event on the annual calendar.

I only stayed for one day, but I made the most of my time there. I walked along the beach, visited the famous old pier, and strolled through the town center, where there was plenty going on, including live music, dance performances, art exhibitions, and much more. Brighton is a clean and beautiful town that I definitely plan to visit again. It is well worth a visit.

It was very relaxing. Sitting by the beach and going to the gym in the evening. Great restaurants in the lane. The pier was great place for a nice walk after dinner. I feel totally safe and I feel safer than being in London.

A City with it's own identity.

A City with it's own identity. The independent shops in The Lanes are a must visit. Lovely restaurants as well. English's has great sea food as does Riddle and Finns. Hove is much more gentile but has great architecture and is well worth a walk along the front.

Colourful, vibrant and diverse.

Colourful, vibrant and diverse. Great shopping in independent shops in the Lanes. Cultural quarter is a must-visit. The seaside boardwalk incorprorates several little shops, art galleries and wonderful ice-cream! Live performances at various pubs and bars on the beach are always very high quality. Parking in Brighton is a pain but the bus service is excellent, very frequent and reliable-I never waited more that 6 or 7 minutes for a bus. A great way to meet the locals too. Brighton is packed full of cafes and restaurants to suit every taste but I went back to Joliffes for their pastries. My favourite pastime when in Brighton is to find an outdoor table in the Lanes and just people watch as I sip coffee and eat too many cakes!

lovely place very clean and tidy , however i did find getting around the new road system a little awkward. Plenty of taxi's on hand , but there was a lot of building work being carried out which did make it very problematic in a mobility scooter.

Brighton traffic is always bad, but we got there, and there was plenty of parking in the next-door car park (entrance to the car park is around the side of the hotel, not on the same street), although the lift goes straight into the hotel lobby. Quick check-in. Sea view, big bed, not overly large, but not cramped, quiet, good temperature. The hotel is next to the pier, with a fine display of murmurations, and the beach. Massive atrium area for food and drinks great for catching up with friends

Excellent location with plenty of nearby places to eat and drink in particular. Beach a 2 minute walk away. Nearby electric bike hire to zip into Brighton, costing less than £2, or a 15 min slow stroll. Comfortable place to stay with everything we wanted. Quirky instructions to add fabulous character to an already wonderful property. Double bed seems to be memory foam, honestly the best nights sleep in ages. We'll definitely be back.
