Dating back to the 1880s, Loanhead Cottage is an end terrace cottage set in a quaint part of Loanhead in the Lothian Region. There is free parking around the cottage. This was a well looked after cottage, great location, close to the bus stop 37 to Edinburgh
89 Clerk Street is set in Loanhead. Complimentary WiFi is available. Midlothian Ski Centre is 6 km from the homestay. Edinburgh Airport is 19 km from the property. I was made very welcome by the family, the hostess made me a lovely cup of tea and showed me to my room and shared bathroom, she asked if I had eaten and recommended several local resturants on the street I was staying on. This was a room only booking, the bed was comfortable and I had a desk and chair in my room. I was told to help my self to tea and coffee and shown the kitchen down stairs. I was made tea in the morning before departing, the house was very near to the University Easter Bush site were I had an interview. very resonably priced

Built in 1852, Rathan House - Guesthouse at Eskbank is based just 7 miles outside of the Scottish capital city of Edinburgh. Never had one but they looked very hood
The inn was very traditional and exactly furnished to its genre. Loved reading the poem in the conservatory explaining the painting of Lasswade. Loved the well and the artefacts in the glass case. Added to the ambience and history of the inn.
My experience of Lasswade was only staying one night at the Laird and Dog Inn on business, so I had no time to explore. However, this was an excellent place to stay and friendly people. Loved the Scottish food and whisky.
I liked the ambience of the Laird & Dog restaurant and the area where it is situated. Considering it is a country area the road right outside the pub is very busy but a pedestrian crossing is provided.
Only a small place but ideal for people to use as a base. We traveled about quite a bit so it was good for us. Adam the manager is a lovely chatty man and gave us quite a bit of information as is James the assistant manager. We would go there again if we are in that neck of the woods.
place was quirky, very welcoming, spotlessly clean, great staff and lovely atmosphere. there is a bus stop outside that takes you to the capital in about 20 mins £1.60 or taxi £13 was lovely to just have it all there if you wanted to explore. the lasswade inn beds were so comfy and great shower.
Arrived late in the evening for a 1 nights stay close to Dalkeith. Had plenty of parking with CCTV. No problems booking in and was shown to our room quite quickly. The room could do with being updated but the shower was good and the bed was comfy. Tea & coffee provided but the coffee could be a lot better, nice touch having biscuits. Had an evening meal which was very nice, large menu for every budget. All the staff where very friendly. Music playing in the bar til late. Great if you wanted entertainment in the evening and not so great if you wanted and early night as you could hear it quite clearly in the room. Breakfast was good. Left early in the morning so didn't get a chance to look round Lasswade.

Vince and Jim were amazing hosts. They went out of their way to be helpful in every way, and were just a pleasure to be around. They also made us delicious breakfasts. We got some great tips from them for places to visit close to Edinburgh - they are very knowledgeable about the area and helped us plan our visit.
