Room lovely and spacious, room service was swift, food was lovely in restaurant, breakfast buffet was fantastic, brilliant atmosphere, great service (I didnt catch her name but a blonde polish lady serving in the restaurant was absolutely a credit to the hotel and deserves a pay rise!) Overall a really lovely stay.

Tucked in the Welsh hillside, the 4-star Stradey Park Hotel & Spa is a converted Edwardian mansion with panoramic views of the Gower and Carmarthenshire coastline. First, we asked for a quiet room and immediately received an email to tell us that this had been seen to and it was very quiet. Everything about this hotel is great, the staff, the rooms, the restaurants and the food.

Fine if you want to walk or cycle and yes you can get to the beach but when the tide is out it is really out - pebbles and mud! A lot has been invested in the water park and cycle route but the town itself is awful - so sorry but it is very poor with no decent restaurants or bars, and is mostly very run down. The best on offer was the premier inn with a view of the lake - covered in green slime when we were there.
We were able to drive a relatively short distance to places of interest such as Pendine Sands (world land speed record beach - worth the visit but the new museum isn't open yet due to Covid causing the contractor to go into administration), a number of castles in the area within easy reach (e.g. Kidwelly), and a drive around the Gower Peninsula, and the Dylan Thomas boathouse at Laugharne. Laugharne castle itself was worth the visit and lunch at Arthur's Cafe in Laugharne was an enjoyable experience (Welsh Rarebit, samphire and cockles washed down with a cool glass of Welsh Cider). Note that English Heritage Members have free access to the Castles run by the Welsh Government.
The main reason for our trip was to cycle along the Millennium Coastal path which was excellent. It is a beautiful location and very easy to access. Would definitely recommend the coastal path to families walking or cycling.
Great location for exploring the local area and close to national cycle networks 4 and 47. The hotel is well appointed with a friendly homely feel and spa facilities (we didn't have time to use). Our room was very comfortable, clean and recently redecorated and the restaurant and bar meals were of good quality- all at a very reasonable price.
Llanelli felt more like a working town rather than a tourist destination. Beach was nice with one nice restaurant on front but none of the usual beach cafes/shops etc and town centre 10min drive away.
Llanelli is not the super touristy beachy destination we had hoped for. The beach itself is not great, it's mostly mud rather than sand as pictures suggest. There is a busy town there but it was advertised as a 'market town' so I assumed it was a quaint, small village town but it was not. Other areas surrounding Llanelli were very pleasant though including Mumbles beach in Swansea.
This hotel has a friendly, homely atmosphere. It is very well-placed to travel to nearby Gower, Swansea, Carmarthenshire and the beaches & features in and near Llanelli. We had a lovely Spa treatment each. We had an evening meal, with excellent service and excellent food. It was a lovely experience.

A gem of a hotel, perfectly placed for travelling around South Wales. Comfortable rooms, friendly owner, beautiful countryside and retail/restaurants close by.
The large breakfast was one if the best hotel breakfasts which I have had. The staff were both friendly and efficient.
One of the best hotels I have stayed in, absolutely first class, and breakfast first class 👌
good location, clean room, friendly helpful staff. good restaurant attached to the hotel.
