Less than 10 minutes’ walk from Clarence Pier in Portsmouth, this historically listed building is in Bellevue Terrace. Breakfast and location where excellent. The staff and owner where very helpful and gave much information about where to go and what to do. Since the is no real parking space on the hotel grounds, we where given a permit so we could park in front of the hotel without paying the local fee.

On the eastern edge of Portsmouth, Farmhouse Innlodge features a traditional restaurant, a children’s play centre and a lively sports bar. Portsmouth Continental Ferry Terminal is just 2 miles away. We liked the fact that the place was easy to find with the GPS and it was very quiet.

The Royal Maritime Club is just 5 minutes’ walk from the Gunwharf Quays waterfront development and Portsmouth’s Historic Dockyard. I like everything about the property and always stay there when passing through Portsmouth.
A good weekend break destination with friends (was our 2nd visit). Gunwharf Quays shops handy for retail therapy and the historic boatyard was excellent. We purchased an annual ticket last year which included the Mary Rose (must see exhibit) but looks like this is an additional cost now. We stayed two nights and had meals at The Old Customs house and Chiquitos which were both very good and very popular so glad we booked.
We visit Southsea and Portsmouth a couple of times a year. We enjoy the clean pebble beach at southsea and have a little stroll on the pier and play in the arcade for a while. It’s so close to Gunwharf quays which is great for retail outlet designer therapy and there are now so many decent restaurants. We love looking around the maritime exhibits, spiniker, HMS victory, castle etc. As we head home we always stop at Clarence pier for a quick stick of rock and last minute play on the 2p slot machines
Regular visitor to Portsmouth and always enjoy the friendliness of the city and the people especially the students. Good variety of shops, restaurants and bars in the centre of town and Gunwharf Quays. Nearby Southsea and Port Solent very calming to visit and stroll around by the water.
Southsea is not a great place to be in the rain, however there are plenty of great places to visit fairly close by if the weather is not kind. Gunwharf quays has a fantastic array of eateries and bars and there is spinaker tower and historic dockyards to visit (Mary rose/Victory etc. well worth a visit).
We go to Portsmouth every October when we stay overnight then catch the Santander ferry the following morning. We always pay a visit to Gunquay Wharf and have a meal there. It's the start of our winter!
Lots of fascinating, excellent museums. Two days not enough! Very pleasant to walk around - historical buildings, shops, restaurants Some restaurants quite pricey, and you have to pay everywhere for parking
Went to Portsmouth to visit my family & friends so this was an excellent choice of hotel to use as a base which is in a great location surrounded by shops & Fratton Park just next door, also the city centre just a mile or so away. Was greeted to nice friendly staff whilst checking in & were excellent throughout my stay. The room was clean, comfortable & quiet with the shower nice & hot just how I like it. All in all a nice stay & would use again.
The hotel was busy with workmen doing jobs as the hotel still has ongoing works being completed as it's fairly new opening. This wouldnt have suited if children present however I had none and the staff went out of there way to apologize for inconvenience caused .Friendly staff & the room was clean and tidy . Once finished this will be a nice place to stay on my visits to Portsmouth. Very reasonable price considering its on sea front . Thank you 🙏🙂
Bedroom was lovely and clean. Nicely decorated. Loved the shower and the light up mirror in the bathroom was a pretty addition. Bed was super comfortable my friend also mentioned what a nice place it was. First time staying in Portsmouth. Beach, shops, and restaurants only a short walking distance from the property. Kitchen was spotless and colourful. Would stay here again had a really pleasant time. :)
Good value for money for our stay. We usually try to stay in one of the Mercer Collection hotels when visiting the Portsmouth area if the room rate is attractive enough. Well appointed, comfortable and spacious rooms in all of their premises we have stayed in, excellent staff and great choice of breakfasts. Only managed to visit their pub once but found the food on that occasion superb.
We only spent one night but would be happy to return. The hotel is perfectly located for the beach, but also only a 5£ Uber trip from the University. We had a double room, tuck in the back of the hotel, quite and comfy. The bed was great and we appreciated a proper window to be opened for fresh air. The breakfast was tasty and the staff was nice.
I’ve stayed here several times and never been disappointed. In the Portsmouth area, I wouldn’t stay anywhere else. It’s an old hotel with charm and a class of presentation and service that is a rare find. Spotlessly clean, comfortable, lovely staff and plenty free parking.
Close to Portsmouth Harbour station & the Historic Docklands (about 5 mins walk) this hotel above a pub was great & perfect for a winter weekend away. The staff were warm & friendly & the room was clean, well appointed, & comfortable.
Location was beautiful by the sea , and property was clearly a grand hotel in some ways but a bit tired in places. The staff were fantastic . The food was lovely and again the staff were very good- huge portions !
The facilities are great and the hotel is clean with friendly + helpful staff. The leisure facilities were lovely and all complementary! Plenty of choice for breakfast. Only ten minutes walk from Gunwharf Quays
What a nice hotel, I love its location and the perfect facility. I live in the room in G2, and enjoy the street view of Portsmouth. I will travel to here many times, will live in the hotel again.
Comfortable, clean and quiet, easy walk to historic properties, restaurants, transportation and shopping. Beautiful view. Has parking available, which is a big plus in Portsmouth.
Perfect location for shopping and dining at Gunwharf quays. Comfortable bed. Clean and tidy room with everything we needed. Breakfast was good for a express style hotel.
Loved the location, the common facilities, the welcome. Would recommend and if ever in Portsmouth again I will stay there for sure.
Perfect end to a nightmare holiday , so kind and beautiful hotel, breakfast was amazing even ran us to get hire car
Great location. Very friendly family run hotel. If we were to go back to Portsmouth we wouldnt stay anywhere else
The location was very good near the University of Portsmouth
An excellent base for a hotel break in Portsmouth
We received a very pleasant yet late checkin(1.30a.m.) and were quickly shown to our room. Everything in our room was very comfortable and to our liking. The breakfast, at an extra charge, was good value for money. It is a perfect place for a ferry stay over and we shall be using it again in a weeks time. The car parking was plentiful, secure and free
We liked the fact that the place was easy to find with the GPS and it was very quiet. We also liked the fact that it had a hotel and restaurant attached so you did not have to leave the motel to get a meal or drink. It was just a walk down the corridor.
I like everything about the property and always stay there when passing through Portsmouth. I like the rooms and the dining room (for breakfast) is spectacular!
