The location was fantastic, excellent for getting around the island. The staff were friendly and knowledgable and a special shout out to the spa staff who were very kind. Breakfast was very tasty but lacked a little variety.
The massages at the spa were very nice and that facilities in the spa were also good. We were lucky in that it was very quiet, I think if it had been busy the spa would have been less enjoyable as it is a little small (1 pool, 2 hot tubs, 1 steam room, 3 saunas)

The room is very smelly. I have used air fresher but still could not help it.

Room looked like not been cleaned for weeks , Found lots of black hairs everywhere and me and my partner both blonds . Was very dusty under bed & mattress was very soft and cheap & very uncomfortable , was very noisy at night as only single glazing & the worst is you lose a whole day as can't book in until after 3pm & have to book out on last day by 10 am .
Centrally located in Ryde on the Isle of Wight, Dorset House is just an 8-minute walk from 6 miles of sandy beaches. The hotel features a large car park, available to all guests for free.

Ryde has most things in the town , right next to the beach , great train, open top bus and hovercraft and ferry all in one place, fantastic
We loved it
Nice breakfast places
Nice Restraunt’s , good pubs
Ryde has some steep hills but the front is flat
The parking people are very sharp and take pictures rather than stick it on your car.

I went to Ryde, partly because there's a bus direct from East Cowes and the ferry - I don't take the car - and partly to see more of it. I'm not a beach lover but Ryde beach is good for those that are, and in season there's the pleasure pool etc for kids at the east end of the town. Buses go regularly to Newport, Sandown, Shanklin, Ventnor and Bembridge, and the Island Line Railway also goes to Shanklin, And up and down the pier. There are the hovercraft to / from Southsea, the bus / tram museum and shops to potter in. Eating places - Castle Hotel is good - and wonderful ice cream

We were on the island to visit various places so the location did not really matter as we had the car, however having now travelled all around next time we would choose a location with more of a little town environment. There was very little in Ryde.

Ryde buildings and look is tired and needs some refreshing, the train service is, at best, erratic with many cancellations which is annoying if you need to get to Smallbrook Junction. They say you can use the train ticket for the bus but the bus does not go there! However the bus service is good and reliable. The Alamo steak house is very good, excellent steaks cooked as requested.

Great cafes and restaurants.
Great cafes and restaurants. I was really impressed by the homemade cakes on offer. It makes such a change from the massproduced rubbish.
Loved the walks potential. I really wished I had stayed longer.
The room was comfortable and there was plenty of space to put my belongings. It was also quiet as it was at the back of the hotel. The breakfast was great as there was plenty of choice and the dining room was spacious. The staff were friendly and willingly helped me with my suitcase as there were some stairs to go up and down even though there was a lift. I felt fine there even though I was on my own. I liked the location as it's situated right opposite Ryde Esplanade railway station. Taxis and buses are opposite too, plus the Hovercraft.
This was a beautiful and well-decorated property. It's located in a quiet residential street but is just a few minutes walk away from shops, pubs, restaurants and beaches of the centre of Ryde. The photos on the website didn't really do it justice. The rooms are spacious and comfortable and the kitchen well-equipped. There is a conservatory and a small garden with seating area, which was well-used during the fine weather during our stay. We had a lovely time and would be very happy to return.
Nice cosy room. Clean and comfortable. Glad to have the tea and coffee facilities. Location on the Esplanade was exceptional, and was very close to the centre of Ryde for access to shops and eateries. Also right opposite the bus stand so very useful for getting around the island during the weekend. Very clean and spacious bathroom. I was impressed by the ethos that had led to the setting up of the hotel in the first place - long may it continue to do the good work!
The location is fantastic. Quiet and beautiful place with close range to Ryde centre, beach and coastal path. Friendly, kind, flexible and very supportive host that communicate quick and efficiently.
We can't wait to visit again.
We had a lovely time in the cozy 3Mews. Everything was thoughtful prepared. Could not ask for more. Highly recommended when you visit the Isle of Wight.
Breakfast was lovely and plenty to choose from. The decoration and quality of the hotel was lovely. For dinner they certainly know how to cook beef it was so tender and tasted lovely. Couldn't eat everything so good sized portion for me. Staff were great. It would have been nice to have a bar area but there was a pub across the road. Great for walks and the lake looked great.
Nice residential area a little away from the centre of town. As we had a vehicle it was not a problem with our being able to visit the entire island without difficulty. Fiona and her husband Neil were very helpful and approachable offering part of their garden for outdoor use. The flat was in excellent condition with all mod. cons. Would highly recommend.
Yelfs is located in the best area of Ryde, with shops, restaurants and bars just stumbling distance away. The bar in Yelfs great too. The thing that Wally makes this hotel is THE STAFF. From the moment I walked in, they were super helpful. Breakfast was excellent and I will definitely be returning.
Central location in town; well served by buses and close to ferry terminal and rail station. A long established and old-style hotel that offers good food in bar or restaurant. The staff were particularly good natured, friendly and helpful which makes such a difference to staying guests
Staff so helpful, I arrived early and they were able to check me in. This hotel is a little oasis of calm - beautiful grounds and one of the best spas I have ever used in a hotel. The lavender sauna cannot be missed! I only stayed one night but it felt like a real break.
Good location in Ryde, staff friendly enough. This is basically a pub with rooms, a bit grandiose to call it a hotel. Room was ok, but as a double it would be very small for 2 people but as I travelled alone it was ok. En-suite tiny!
location was awesome. amazing kitchen facilities! rooms and common areas very clean. can’t say I would stay again because we like quiet locations but if you are in for the pubs and evening life this could be a great place.
Dorset Hotel was beautiful, clean and very hospitable. The breakfasts were plentiful and the management and staff couldn't do enough for me. The location and views from the Hotel were exceptional.
The room was located near by to reach Ryde (5 mins walk). Space was clean, neat, spacious, comfy. Chris was kind enough to explain us about the island and it's specialities. Thanks Chris :)
Location was quiet and safe although a fair walk to Ryde centre. There are buses that run very near the property which is useful (if you don't drive). And taxis are cheap.
