The cooked breakfasts were a great way to start the day. Staff were warm, friendly and welcoming and the location of the hotel on the sea front next to the coastal path with an easy walk into the town was delightful.

Wonderful location of typical beach holidays with children.

Wonderful location of typical beach holidays with children. Great beaches and clean water. Plenty to do, lots of lovely eateries. However if you want amusements, fair grounds etc, this is not for you.

As a family we have visited Whitstable many times over the years, it feels like a second home. We have stayed in hotels and self catering and have always found both to be great. We love that you can stroll about the gorgeous shops and then wander over to the beach and sit and enjoy the sunshine and then walk about the harbour. It's a special place

Whitstable is a lovely little Kentish riverside town, with great restaurants, a lovely High Street with quirky local shops, a good, working harbour with boat trips, bars and loads of eateries, and of course, Whitstable Oysters. There are buses into Canterbury, Herne Bay and Tankerton. My only reservation, book everything in advance. Whitstable is incredibly popular, and all the good restaurants are booked up weeks in advance. If you want to get in, book before you go. And be aware parking is very, very difficult, especially in August. The car park behind the harbour is usually full by 10am!

I have visited Whitstable before on day trips so first time holidaying here. People are friendly both shops and locals The beach is shingle but not far to the sea and swimming was glorious. The Harbour Market is great, the seafood stalls very reasonable and fresh good variety. You can book 30 min boat trips £12.00 or a Seal Safari which was amazing but bit pricey at £35.00. Stalls selling various wares hand made. Town has many shops, pubs, eateries. I recommend Lazy Lobster for lobster and seafood , Zizzis for pizza, Harbour Street Fish n Chips- all superb ! Not much to see at the Castle but has a lovely garden and Tea/coffee shop. I took buses but also used Whitstable Cars to get around- fast friendly service. Lovely walking the shore , both ways and seeing phenomenal sunsets, walking round town. Neptune pub is right on the beach.

My happy place.

My happy place. Nice walks, shops, people and dog friendly wherever you go. Hotel fish and chips were lovely. Seafood bought at a few places-all delicious. Lots of Morris dancers, which was fun. Great quality bespoke shops to explore.

Great restaurants (Birdies) and pubs, all dog friendly.

Great restaurants (Birdies) and pubs, all dog friendly. Lovely little market at harbor. We also took a boat trip out to see the WW2 gun turrets. Great easy walks along the sea front and boutique shops in high street.

This hotel is situated in an elevated position on a hill above the town of Whitstable. Super spot for a short break, with easy road access to North Kent and Canterbury. The room we had included a small balcony built over the roof of the main building, with superb views towards the moth of the Thames Estuary and the Isle of Sheppey, and a very spacious bathroom. The food served at dinner was excellent with interesting choices. The breakfast was not a buffet but there were a number of cooked options.

The location is great, a short walk from the town centre and directly in front of the beach on the harbour side of town. The fisherman's hut is fot for purpose and a very nice way to spend a few days in Whitstable. The staff who run the huts at The Continental Hotel were also very friendly and helpful.
