The service is excellent, they make you feel right at home. The facilities are very cozy, and the location is perfect: it's quiet and not crowded, as it’s close to Windsor Castle. The room is spacious, and a big plus is that it includes a bathtub. Breakfast is really good: very complete, with plenty of delicious options. I would definitely recommend staying here to anyone.

The best experience we had during our stay was at the reception. We were traveling with a few kids, and there was an issue with our room that initially caused us some concern. However, the receptionist, Milfa, went above and beyond to address our needs promptly and efficiently, sorting everything out in no time. Her professionalism and quick response were a huge relief and made us feel truly valued as guests. Thanks to her efforts, the rest of our stay was seamless and enjoyable. I’d like to extend my heartfelt thanks to Milfa for her outstanding service, which truly set the tone for a fantastic stay.

We messaged the property in the very early hours of the morning on our day of arrival as our arrival time changed considerably and they we're fantastic at arranging a very early check in for us making our day. The room was exceptionally clean and well stocked with amenities. The bed was delightfully comfortable and the free parking was a god send for the area.

we absolutely loved the 2 hour river trip with excellent commentary. the shops were good and varied, lots of places to stop for a coffee or meal. the castle would have been interesting but we chose the hottest day and schools had just finished. the queues were horrendous. we couldnt see all we wanted to. staff were as helpful as possible. we attended a wedding at the Guildhall which was lovely. reception at the Castle hotel. once in through the upgrade work was a nice venue.

Only stopped in Windsor 24 hours, but done the "Long Walk" and visited the Castle. And BTW in St George's Chapel sat in the same seat that Queen Elizabeth sat in at her husbands funeral, but sharply got told to vacate it (as I expected). Then had two nights in London City, which was hot and crowded, tube trains and Westminster bridge crammed during the day. Should of stayed in Windsor for the three days really, pubs with brilliant food & drink, and a Wetherspoons as well, what more could anybody want?

Visiting Windsor Castle has been on my bucket list for a few...

Visiting Windsor Castle has been on my bucket list for a few years now and I finally got to go. It's a huge castle but you only get to see a small part of it which was disappointing but still very enjoyable. I would recommend the audio guide - it was very informative. However, it was a bit like Ikea .... you could only go one way so the queues were enormous on a mid-week day. They persuaded us to go into the shorter queue to see the State Rooms only, but when you come out, you have to rejoin the longer queue to see the Queens Dolls House from which you also see the state rooms... so don't bother doing that! We spent more time queuing than we spent enjoying the castle. It would have been nice if the staff had provided refreshments whilst standing in the queues on such a hot day.

In the evening : a very pleasant town with quaint views everywhere you look, quiet and lovely, serene without being boring. Too busy in the daytime with crowds rushing in for the castle. I wish we had stayed 1 extra day to enjoy more shopping, pubs, strolls.

We planned for a two day visit ,but due to a stomach bug i had we were forced to cancel the first night , shame as it limited our time in the area . In hellish heat due to a heat wave of unusual proportions ,maybe a blessing in diguise . TIP avoid the high season and the massive crowds including school parties . Although why on earth schools take 40 or so small (6/7 ) year olds to Windsor castle is beyond my comprehension ,when they would rather be in "Legoland " just 2 or 3 miles away is a mystery for someone else to explain .

Dirty and tacky.

Dirty and tacky. Considering that this is a home town of the Royal Family it is a very poor advertisement for the U.K. Poor quality shops and food outlets and dirty pavements for which adjoining proprietors of shops and food outlets seemed to have no interest

We loved the proximity to the castle, shops and train station. Check in and out were easy and flawless. We utilized baggage storage while we went to the castle. It was wonderful to have this service. The hotel is very old, quirky and full of charm. Our room was clean and the bed was comfy. If we are ever in the area again would stay again. Our room was very spacious and the bathroom was fancy. The bathroom had a towel heating rack which was delightful.

Location great, beautiful looking hotel, swimming pool and gym perfectly adequate (not exceptional but they do the job for a family visit with a ten year old who loves swimming). Gym is fine - equipment good. Our room was comfortable and quiet in the green wing with parking nearby. Breakfast was great - my daughter was very happy with the selection.

not much in all honesty - the robotic responses from the reception/reservations team left a very sour taste. You’re a number here, on a conveyor belt. Get used to it. They should really take note of the Castle hotel on the high st, Fairmont, Oakley Court, and other well established hotels we’ve stayed at in the area.
