The breakfast was reasonable but staff don’t speak, I watched everyone search for the butter, return to tables to collect mugs, nothing was explained to any of us. No marmalade. Bread was the cheapest on sale, the loaves of cheap sliced bread were stacked by the toaster.

The garden room, just off very lovely X rectory house, in lovely setting was a delightful surprise, better than expected. Contemporary renovation, spacious, cosy and beautifully done. Lovely big comfy bed, great bathroom, heated floor plus small lounge area. Had excellent vegan dinner just short stroll down road at The Duck. Very sweet and quiet village. Nespresso coffee machine & frother at breakfast😃👍

A lovely estuary town, full of history and close to Ipswich,Aldeburgh and Felixstowe . Plenty of things to see locally , there is Rendlesham Forest if you like walking and Sutton Ho if you are a history buff. As someone who loves this area and its history and vineyards I could wax lyrical for ages. Woodbridge is an excellent base to explore the area and accessible by train.

Hotel needs upgrading and refurbishing in every area.
Hotel needs upgrading and refurbishing in every area. Pool out of order for whole of our stay due to issue with chlorine levels which when I checked on TripAdvisor seems to be a regular occurrence.. Completely different and very limited menu options offered to the one advertised. This continued for the whole of our stay as there were some kind of problem in the kitchen and so we ate out after the first night.
Don't bother upgrading your room as you will be very disappointed ...as we were.

We very much enjoyed our visit to this lovely town with all its independent shops and lovely nostalgic 'village' feel- such relief from the endless "Shopping Centres' with their bland offerings. There is a great selection of places to eat and the thriving Riverside Theatre/Cinema where we saw an arthouse film. We walked the River Deben: to see the Longship Project and excellent FREE Museum, then on for a day out at fascinating Sutton Hoo. Buses were a welcome surprise with easy trips to Aldeburgh and beyond. We travelled to/from by Train- excellent service and we loved the Station building with its thriving small businesses.
A stunning building externally with some lovely original features. Internally, the hotel has some well appointed communal guest areas downstairs. All of the staff members we dealt with in person at the hotel were polite and as helpful as they could have been whilst dealing with issues. Had a nice meal in the restaurant.
Great proximity to Woodbridge which is well worth a visit.
The Hotel is lovely and clean, great food, great bar. The room was lovely, clean and the bed was very comfy, love the building and the wonky stairs and floors. The old pictures are also great around the hotel, so much history. The position of the hotel in Woodbridge is in the middle of everything.
Breakfast choices where great.
Lovely venue, good location for exploring Suffolk.
We were quoted £202 for the B&B for two nights, but were charged £220.
We chose not to challenge this so as not to spoil our visit.
