Amazing room (Room 10)! Enormous comfortable bed, and lounging area. Great Bathroom. Staff were excellent and very good breakfast included in the price. On site parking was good too. It was my wife's birthday, and there was a complimentary chilled bottle of Prosecco and a card on arrival, which was a nice touch. Elena (sorry if that's spelt wrong) was a wonderful host and very helpful to us.
The Duke of Marlborough is a quaint building just outside Woodstock and Blenheim Palace, the birthplace of Sir Winston Churchill. It offers free parking and hearty, locally-sourced food.
Dating back to 1637, this coaching inn is situated on the ancient Worcester to London road (B4027), on the edge of picturesque Wootton village, just 2 miles from Woodstock.

Woodstock is a pretty little town, with some interesting shops and plenty of good pubs and eateries. Also, of course convenient for Blenheim Palace which is a short walk.
We a ate dinner at the Back Lane Tavern, which was amazing with very tasty food and warm atmosphere.
Also convenient for a visit to Winston Churchill's grave at Bladon Church.

A dream destination for those from overseas who love our history. Quintessentially English, and a short stroll to Blenheim Palace. Individual Shops, boutiques, antiques cafes, and a good choice of places to eat, but without feeling over commercial.
Lots of other places close by to explore. We had a lovely meal at The Brothertons Brasserie, which was delicious, Italian and staff were exceptional, I would most certainly return there when next in Woodstock, the was also a lovely Gelateria I think it was called Alfonso’s down the road, I only wish they had stayed open to say 21.00hrs as we could have had some for our dessert. We were staying in a self catering property and there was also a good local shop, butchers, fruits and veg shop, all selling good quality products. You can easily walk around Woodstock, and into Blenheim.

Lovely place to wander, very middle England, very picturesque. Not many shops, plenty of places to eat, or have a drink outside one of the many hotels & bars people watching.
Very close to Blenheim Palace, leave your car and walk through the park

We enjoyed walking around Woodstock as well as visiting Blenheim Palace and park. The Star Inn pub was a favourite for a pint of beer as well as a couple of meals. Public transit from Oxford and to Chipping Norton is very easy.

A beautiful country town with quaint shops and a good selection of restaurants. We visited the Soldiers of Oxfordshire Museum for family reasons and found it very interesting with pleasant and friendly staff. The cafe within the grounds of the Museum is excellent.
We ate at the Punchbowl Inn both evenings and enjoyed our meals there very much. The staff were very friendly and helpful, would definitely recommend - not cheap but worth the money.
We also visited Blenheim, not the Palace but the park and gardens, just glorious!

A pleasant market town with pretty buildings, a range of shops including antiques. art and interior designs, as well as a butchers, a co-op and several pubs, restaurants and cafes. There were also 2 small museums.
Blenheim Palace was only a 10 minute walk from Woodstock. We spent 2 days visiting the Palace and its grounds, and felt we could have spent longer.
There was a frequent bus service into Oxford. Buses ran every half hour from about 5.30am to 11.30pm, cost £2, and the journey took about 40 minutes. We spent 2 days visiting Oxford and felt we could have spent longer.
The only downside about Woodstock was car parking, which was restricted to pay and display between 8.00am and 6.00pm every day.
There was a free car park near the fire station which allowed upto 12 hours stay in any 24 hour period.
For longer stays, 24 hour car parking permits could be purchased from the Council for £10 per day.
The location to Woodstock and the Cotswolds is unbeatable. Having a morning walk along the footpaths that lead from the lodges into the Palace grounds was amazing, wildlife of deer, rabbits and pheasants in clear view. The lodges are well appointed with an outside seating area and very new facilities with onsite parking.
The location and the room was very comfortable, but not worth the price taking into account, the greeting from the host no parking and quality of breakfast.Stayed at the Marlborough Arms previously and will definitely choose that or the hotel The Bear on our next visit..
Great old hotel with lots of charm stayed one night had room upgrade on arrival which was fabulous had evening meal and breakfast very nice, it was great to have a car park as woodstock was very busy will definitely return.also staff very polite and helpful
Beautifully presented apartment, clean with high-end fixtures and fittings. Great location in the very centre of Woodstock, ideal for visiting Blenheim and surrounding area. Host very helpful and quick to respond.
