The Compound was a great stay! First off, the staff are incredibly welcoming and friendly. Modou, the main manager, picked us up and guided us through the property despite it being so late at night. Throughout our stay we were able to cook and eat with the other employees of the Compound. We loved that opportunity to see and try all the Gambian foods we wanted to get that weren’t available in restaurants. The accommodation was cozy and comfortable. Bathroom was clean and water for the showers was hot. Pretty close to the beaches if you don’t mind a short walk. But can also easily take a taxi too. We loved our stay!

The true gem here was the staff. They were all incredibly nice and accommodating. We ended up arriving so much later than anticipated due to travel delays, and they made sure we were able to have food although the kitchen was closing. They have plenty of games and a pool table there that was quite enjoyable. There was nightly entertainment, and you could sit out for quite a while and enjoy yourself. I like the fact that it was all inclusive during that season, so you didn't have to worry about that aspect. Truly, everyone who worked in the restaurant and bar area were absolutely amazing.
Out of the main tourist area so more authentic. Local food, fresh fruit, nuts, juice superb. Please support the locals they are her poor. Very welcoming. Deserves label of 'smiling coast of Gambia.'
