Evelyn and Canice were so warm and welcoming when we stayed with them for 2 nights in January. We showed up on their doorstep in a snowstorm, and due to a technical issue, they had no idea we were coming. Despite this, they welcomes us in immediately and made up a cozy en-suite room within an hour. It had everything we could have needed- they also kept bringing us things like bottled water and snacks throughout the evening. We were beyond comfortable in the immaculate, well-appointed room for the night. The house is gorgeous. Evelyn cooked us a huge breakfast in the morning- complete with vegetarian options for me! While we were eating Canice surprised us by shoveling all of the snow and ice from our car! Do not hesitate to book a stay with these lovely hosts if you are in the area- you will not be disappointed.

Great place especially at the weekend you seriously must stay in the town clock a you really will be surprised a great friendly bunch of people who cook the most fantastic Italian food in the bistro down stairs from where you stay darius is a true gentleman who will give you a great friendly welcome then head over to o Flaherty bar for a night of Craic and Guinness then drop into o scallions for a quick game of pool and a cocktail then next morning when your leaving town clock take a right turn to Lilly rose cafe bakery for a fantastic fry but bring your hungry with you because that is one mega fry they serve
A visit to Dunree Fort is worth a visit. We didn't visit the museum but did some of the walks which were spectacular. We also ate in the little cafe on site which was very good indeed. Coffee in particular! Buncrana town is lovely, plenty of shops, bars and cafes. Its a one way drive system. We ate at Tank and Skinnys - just coffee and cake, but the food going to other tables looked delicious - we'll definitely be back.
Nice little town. Beside the ferry to Rathmullan. Quite a few bars and restaurants. Easy drive to Malin head and surrounding areas. We had been travweling for 2 weeks and neeed to do a wash..and the local dry cleaners also did service washed. the SHERPA indian restaurant was very good. If you are interested in the festival in Clonmany, they organised buses there and back. In fact if there is a festival anywhere nearby it might be worth calling a pub in this town an seeing what transport they are laying on.
Beaches close by beautiful scenery. Lovely safe play park for toddlers and older kids with basketball court. Tank and Skinny's right on beach for brilliant food, but always busy. 20 minutes from Derry. Also not too far from Mamore Gap and Fort Dunree. The Alpaca way in Malin. Fantastic family days out. Well worth a visit. Last of all friendly locals.
There was a wonderful cafe - Lily Rose that serves a great breakfast. There were multiple fine cafes and restaurants to eat at actually. Swan Park is incredible but have comfortable walking shoes on! I would recommend going when the weather is good as it mostly rained on the first day and there wasn't really anything to do.
We loved Buncrana although we were a little disappointed at the lack of traditional places to eat and drink that allowed kids. We finally found the ideal place in Tank & Skinny's on our last day which was fabulous and highly recommended, just a pity it was closed for most of our time there. We also ate at Primavera which was ok, the kids enjoyed their meals but ours was pretty bland. I did have trouble trying to find a taxi the one time I needed one, the numbers provided at the hotel did not work and I ended up walking!!

Warm welcome from Jason and his lovely black Labrador Peppa. Very comfy bed. Lovely view of the sea fromthe bedroom. Quiet location, and very convenient to Buncrana town, Beaches and facilities.and the heating being turned on for a short period in the evening was a nice touch, even though it was a nice evening in general.

Lovely little B&B run by a super friendly family, who made sure that all our needs were met and exceeded. They also gave tons of good advice, for what to see and do and where to eat in Donegal, as well as what roads to take. The rooms were really comfortable and homey and I will definitely stay here again.
