The accommodation is basic, kibbutz country lodging-style. The staff are very helpful. I am an archaeologist working nearby so this location was perfect for me. You need a car to get anywhere, although there is bus service to town and the local thermal spa. During June, summer mostly on the Friday, and Saturday, the public beach for swimming was super crowded, unpleasant, this was a letdown. And walking around, looking for other things to do besides swim was impossible due to heat, and the Ohalo, does not have its own Pool. So, make sure you stay at a place with a pool as an alternative, or have a vehicle to get around. For us it was sabbath, we weren't driving. We tried something new, the beach at Ein Gev, for Boating sports, and we paid an expensive fee for speedboat, plus 30 min waterski experience for our teenager who was with us.
