The entire experience was amazing! Inga and Siggi were such gracious and helpful hosts from the start. They answered questions before we arrived and were very accessible throughout our stay for when we had additional questions.
Inga and Siggi left us a welcome gift which was so thoughtful and greatly appreciated!
The home is BEAUTIFUL. It was perfect for the 8 of us - plenty of room. Everything was thought of down to the smallest details. The kitchen was fully stocked with very nice plates, glassware, silverware, kitchen utensils, etc., as well as different olive oils, kinds of vinegar, and salt. The bathroom had shampoo, conditioner, shower gel as well as extras in case you forgot your toothbrush, etc. The beds were comfortable and the black-out curtains worked well since we were visiting in August and the sun really never went away. I couldn't speak more highly of the home or our hosts! My entire family said it was one of the best parts of our trip to Iceland.

The remoteness was nice but sadly clouds impacted our northern lights viewing. It was big enough for our family of five.

Exactly what we were looking for. One of a series of cabins with everything needed for a couple. Great view and good basic accommodations.
There are 2 Reyhkolts in Iceland and this is the more...
There are 2 Reyhkolts in Iceland and this is the more westerly one (the other is on the Golden Circle to the south). We visited Vidgelmir, the lava tube, and it was fabulous! It's cold inside so dress warmly. The guides were all geologists who specialize in this kind of formation and were knowledgeable about both geology and the history of the tube. Krauma geothermal baths and restaurant: the baths were expensive and we didn't go but the restaurant served great food (also expensive as is all food in Iceland).
Well maintained and updated farmhouse overlooking the valleys of Reykholt. Had a fun breakfast with the hostess/owner and other guests - chatting about our experiences and home countries. My room was charming and comfortable with farmhouse decor. Really appreciated the cluster of multiple bathrooms and showers for the guests. There is a hot tub on the balcony. Always enjoy seeing dogs on the premises.
Location was great, and cabin very functional and comfortable. Jacuzzi was very easy to use and worked very well, as well as everything in the cabin (kitchen, hot water, etc.). Amazing location for a quiet, resourceful stay, which was exactly what we were looking for. You need to rent a car if you're going to stay there, but if you do, it's a great place to stay and explore the western part of Iceland.
Everything. We arrived from USA very early for our reservation. Was about 9 am. Room not ready. When reception realized that we were tired from our travels they invited us into the breakfast buffet on their dime. While we were at breakfast they had a room cleaned up for us so we could check In early. Wonderful and very much appreciated service. We will be staying at more fosshotels during our trip.
The house is beautifully appointed. Beds are so comfortable and there is a hot tub and a sauna. You can make a great meal in the kitchen and the relax outside looking at an incredible view with a glass of wine. The perfect place to unwind. Excellent blinds for bright summer nights. Lots of great hiking and natural attractions to see. Recommend checking out the tours organized by Hotel Husafell
The hotel is beautiful in a complex, an amazing area, all the service providers are very kind, our room had an exit to a lovely garden balcony and from there straight to the jacuzzi, and in the morning the sheep came to say good morning lol
good breakfast,
A delicious and good restaurant for dinner
We really enjoyed our stay at the hotel
The hotel is modern and looks fresh. The spa is great (2 types of sauna, outdoor hot pots). Bath robes are provided in the rooms. There is a good restaurant in the hotel. All in all a very comfortable stay. It felt more luxurious than the other 9 hotels we stayed in during our trip in Iceland.
The cottage was lovely, warm and cosy, a perfect bolt hole from the Icelandic weather. The location was brilliant - wonderful views across the valley to the mountain ranges beyond. The host was very friendly and welcoming, even making time to show us the sheep and lambs!
Inga and Siggi were wonderful and welcoming and the house was like a 5-star hotel private property!!! I have stayed at many high-end hotels and this house exceeded them. The owners were accessible and checked in on us frequently to make sure we had whatever we needed.
The hot tub was such a great way to end the day of exploring the Icelandic countryside. The kitchen had everything we needed. The fireplace was cozy. The beds were dreamy. Truly the best place I have ever stayed. I wish we could have spent more time.
Everything! The rooms were clean and well appointed with comfortable beds, a desk with convenient outlets nearby. The location was quiet and quite scenic. And the breakfast was a wonderful opportunity to experience a typical Icelandic breakfast.
Fantastic little hotel. Great family room - our kids loved having a mezzanine to themselves. Nice breakfast. Great location and views. Also, by far the friendliest and most helpful hotel staff we encountered during our 2 week trip around Iceland.
In one word..EVERYTHING! The house is amazing. A beautiful place to stay in a great location for exploring Iceland. The hosts were brilliant and have set the highest standard! It will be hard to find another place to match Holt Villa!
Thank you for the night spent at your Gusthouse ... everything went perfectly, cleanliness, good equipment, great location. Very kind owners ... hope you are doing well ... greetings from Reykholt to Reykholt
The main course (lamb) at the dinner they served was excellent. nice location and views of the surroundings. close to Hraunfossar waterfalls, one of the most beautiful in Iceland.
Gorgeous location and super helpful owner were the icing on top of a unique stay with views to the sky and wild Icelandic weather. I would highly recommend the property.
