I spent two weekends in Anangi, the first weekend exploring and listening to a jazz band play . The second weekend I revisited and booked a ticket to the Cathedral and the crypt underneath. Definitely worth a visit if you are into art. Also the Bonafacie palazzo was interesting to visit. There is also another church to visit with interesting art work in the centre of the Borgo medieval village area. Parking available in a public multi storey park below the cathedral and a 5 minute walk , Sundays in the white squares can be free unless there is a festival on. Anagni is a lovely old town well worth visiting.
Anagni is a lovely old town well worth visiting. We had to search for parking so for us it was a long walk. Although it was a long walk we enjoyed having dinner in the piazza at the top of the town. The location is fantastic, peaceful and private. The restaurant foods was exceptional. The breakfast had a large array of both sweet and savory foods, and fantastic coffee. The medieval town of Anagni was great to visit with easy parking and convenient restaurants. Claudio and Simona welcomed us as if we were family and made us feel right at home. Simona speaks English so there is no language barrier. The rooms are quite spacious, the pool area is relaxing and the breakfast/common room is very large and comfortable. Anagni was a delightful surprise about an hour south of Rome - almost a Tuscan hilltop town in its old centre, but not yet ruined by tourism. We selected it for an overnight stay because we wanted to visit the beautiful cathedral with its Cosmati tiled floor and its frescoes.
