Everything. From the hosts (Francesca and her dad), everything went great and we felt so welcomed. The place was cleaned and ready before the check-in time. The apartment had everything we needed, and felt very homey and modern. Bellano is chill and not very touristy, so I recommend staying at Emma House. You can easily get everywhere using the train or ferry. Thank you, Francesca!

Great location and spectacular views across the lake. The apartment is beautiful, and exactly like the photos. A short 10-minute walk into town, but be aware there are steep hills, cobbled paths and lots of stairs. The hosts were lovely and so hospitable, offering tips for exploring the area and quick to respond to any questions. Bellano is a great location to base yourself and explore Lake Como. It's not as busy with tourists, but just a quick ferry trip to all the other towns along the lake.

A great apartment for our stay in Bellano. The sofa bed was surprisingly comfortable (best 4 nights sleep we had our whole trip!). The apartment makes great use of space, all the necessary amenities in the kitchen. The shower pressure was brilliant, there were hooks to dry our towels properly, a hairdryer, and small shower gels provided. The access to the apartment is down a pedestrian lane way and is very private, there’s a small patio and bench beside the front door (with a slightly obscured lake view). Window shutters and a double front door make the place very secure. The walk to Bellano centre takes less than 10 minutes, some great options for food and drinks (our favourites were Taverna Malanotte for food and Bar Centrale for casual drinks). It’s about 15 minutes to the train station, there are regular trains to Varenna, which run pretty late so we were able to eat there one evening too and return after dinner without hassle. The ferries are also quite regular. We preferred that Bellano was not as busy/touristy as the other lake towns (Varenna, Bellagio, Menaggio), it was a relief after our days exploring. We had the best time staying in this apartment and Claudia went out her way to make sure we had everything we needed for our stay. She was incredibly responsive and helpful :)

The studio was perfect for myself and my two teenage daughters. Ivana had thought of everything, and the flat had all we needed for our one week stay in Bellano. The location was perfect, with a lake view from the outdoor seating area, and short walking distance to restaurants and cafés. The communication from Ivana was excellent, and she left lovely treats for us to enjoy, which were so appreciated. I would absolutely recommend Il Porticciola for a relaxing stay in Bellano.

Bellano was a great place to stay on Lake Como.

Bellano was a great place to stay on Lake Como. It's only 1 hour and 9 minutes from Milano by train, the next stop after Varenna. Bellano is very calm compared to the other big name towns/cities on the lake. We almost stayed in Varenna and were glad we didn't: Varenna was mobbed with tourists during the day. Bellano is not a major tourist hotspot so it was very calm, while still providing a reasonable amount of restaurant/cafe options. We were nervous that we would have trouble using ferries, but it wasn't an issue at all. Highly recommend this relaxed town for your Lake Como stay!

Bellano is pleasant enough but probably not amongst the more stylish Como villages - but you can hire the classic Como wooden boats - quite expensive at c€250 per hour but lovely experience and see a lot of the lake Bellano is also convenient for 2 of the famous lake villas - Cipressi and Monasterio

Bellano is one of the smaller towns of Lake Como and has a nice marina and promenade alongside the wharf. It can't be compared with the bigger towns of Bellagio or Menaggio which are more beautiful and scenic. But Bellano is quite nice too with a neat town centre with both indoor and outdoor eating places. It is also less crowded as compared to some of the bigger towns which gives it a laid back ambience. Logistics are however not so great. Ferry frequency for going to other towns is low which means sometime you have to catch a ferry at an inconvenient time. Inside Bellano public transport is practically non existent and taxis are not available for love or money which is perhaps true for other towns of Lake Como as well. There don't seem to be many top class hotels in Bellano. We stayed at the Villa Reverie Boutique hotel which was situated right on the lake side and was about 1 km from the town centre. We liked the hotel and would recommend it strongly despite its high price point for a 3 star hotel.

Bellano is an amazing place to visit.

Bellano is an amazing place to visit. Absolutely beautiful and so easy to get around on the ferry. Restaurants are close by aswell as supermarkets. TBH I could just sit and look out at the amazing views all day long!

Pretty town, not too hilly like some of the villages. Beautiful lake front with wonderful views from various different spots on the lake. Only down side was that, not being one of the major villages, ferries were less frequent than we envisaged and when arriving at a larger village one had to immediately queue for ages for return tickets. So visitors need to allow for this and make sure they know the times and destinations of ferries in advance. We ate in a very pleasant restaurant on the lake front called Cavalla Bianco one night and visited the Orrido gorge which was stunning and with a fascinating history.

I was pleasantly surprised with this little town.

I was pleasantly surprised with this little town. Apart from the waterfront which is pretty and flowery, the little alleys going inside carry a medieval atmosphere with its unpainted corridors streets. The Gorge of Orrido is a must to visit and music to the ears with the rush of the water coming down the surface of the hill. Magic! Also it is a good place to stay to visit the upper side of the lake which is less touristic and still authentic.

We spent a wonderful few days in Bellano :-). The apartment was very comfortable, and the view of Lake Como from the private terrace was breathtaking! Our host, Giovanni, is an exceptional person, ensuring every comfort for his guests and ensuring a wonderful atmosphere during our stay. We will never forget the welcome drink and the wonderful Italian dishes prepared by Giovanni for dinner :-) An amazing place that I highly recommend to everyone. We will definitely be back!

Absolutely beautiful property . Very clean , amazing facilities . View to die for over Lake Como . Luca & Giovanni we’re amazing hosts . Local train strike whist we were there not a lot of taxi’s available due to the strike Giovanni got in touch with a Friend who arranged a taxi for us as we were heading to Milan after our stay in Como . We will definitely be returning and would highly recommend this beautiful quaint hotel .
