Unfortunately it was not clear on the Booking.com website that the accommodation rate was on a bed and breakfast basis only. To upgrade to half board I was charged £29 per day which I thought was excessive considering the poor quality of the evening meals. I shall be very wary of booking via Booking.com in future

Very pretty resort with great food at sensible prices. Really didn’t like the instance on wearing a FFP2 mask on the gondolas… soo much so that it would make me consider other resorts until that rule is changed…it’s slows the skiing and no one I was with saw it necessary.

fantastic skiing for non beginners 100% superb pisted slopes offering the best skiing I have ever experienced no queues, fantastic ski rental, superb mountain restaurants The best thing about the resort is the lack of groups of beginner skiers with instructors you never have to worry about collisions with erratic skiers

beautiful ski area, not very busstling town, but mountains are incredible. recommend area for advanced skiers, not great for beginners and young kids as there is not an easy blue slope, but after bunny hill you move directly to advanced red slopes.

We went to ski and it didn't disappoint. The ski area is large, and best for intermediate to advanced skiers: I don't think that I would recommend it for young families. We visited in a very quiet week at the beginning of January and had perfect conditions. However it was easy to see how crowded it would become at busier times with relatively few lifts and on-piste restaurants, so pick the week you go! Easy driving distance from Turin or Milan, and a car is very useful.

Very sunny/friendly skiing resort. Popular with locals which is a good sign. A small village but with everything you need but not a place that's hot on cards. Cash is still king as a lot of the restaurants/eateries in the mountain only took cash. Food and drink prices not too bad. If you get an all-area lift pass you need to arrange transport to the other resorts. We were quoted 25 euros each so in hindsight just get a local pass and if you do go to another resort like Cervinia then get a day pass. For tourists everything in walking distance. One ATM next to the supermarket across from the gondola but looks like it may be a "private" one. The banks are at the other end of the street - about a 10 min walk from the gondola. One bank opened every other half day - so you get the idea it's a small village. Very clean and tidy resort. The skiing was fantastic and we didnt feel the need to go to another resort although we may have done if there was a free transfer! No too many transfers from Turin/Milan for independent travellers. Try visitmonterosa.com or shuttledirect.com for transfers. Taxis are lined outside the airport but shuttles can work out cheaper if booked in advance.

This family-run hotel is an excellent value for your money and in a lovely location. The staff is friendly and helpful. There is beer and wine on tap. The rooms are comfortable - we didn’t realize that complimentary tea/coffee was available at the front desk even though there’s a hotpot in the room. Breakfast eggs/ham can be made to order, as well there are all the other European breakfast items available. Not to mention the pool and sauna are free to use!
