Our family spent 4 nights in Casa Marinari. It is perfectly situated right at the entrance to Centro Storico and just a few minutes walk to amazing beaches and beach clubs. The rooms were clean and exactly as pictured and the breakfast was wonderful. I would not hesitate to recommend Casa Marinari for a perfect stay in Scalea!

Beautiful place with an incredible view. Very nice pool (though we didn't use it as it was winter time). Our room had doors that opened out to the pool terrace area. The whole place is incredibly clean and Sergio, the host, is extremely gracious. Very good english, great suggestions and tips on where to eat, and a great breakfast. Great on-site gated parking as well.

I was a little hesitant when I rented the apartment without any reviews. But, it turned out to be a very good choice. 1) Perfect location. A quiet, nice area next to Scalea. Stunning sea view from the balcony, cozy private beach just below the building, good parking. 2) Reasonable price for well equipped and super clean apartment. 3) A warm welcome from Elena, the host and a very nice person, who helped us in every way she could.

We would definitely recommend Scalea for a relaxing holiday, especially for couples. We really enjoyed the beautiful beach, the charming historic centre and evening walks around the town. There are plenty of local restaurants, cafés and pizzerias where you can enjoy Italian food, seafood and pizza. Scalea is quite easy to explore on foot, as the beach, town centre, shops and restaurants are relatively close to each other. We especially recommend spending time at the beach during the day, exploring the old town and enjoying a relaxed dinner followed by an evening walk. Scalea has a lovely atmosphere and is a great place to combine a beach holiday with authentic Italian charm.

Having only just sold my apartment in Scalea after 20...

Having only just sold my apartment in Scalea after 20 wonderful years, I cannot praise Scalea enough. Unfortunately Old Father Time is catching up with me and caused the sale. Scalea is a great town in Calabria with the sea, mountains , shopping centre , several supermarkets, and loads of good restaurants in Scalea itself and the surrounding area. I have found the locals friendly and helpful.

Scale is very nice small town 2 hours from Naples.

Scale is very nice small town 2 hours from Naples. Recommend visiting up to July and from September. In August a lot of Italians come there to spend their holiday and town of 10 000 becomes a town of 150 000. Great beaches, a lot of sightseeing and nearby location to visit. Very friendly people. 178 km by car from Naples. Trains however go almost every hour. If you fancy an original Sicilian food from fresh seafood and do not mind paying a little bit extra go to Ristorante Insieme.

Scalea is a historic town, so besides the beach and the sun you can also discover its historical charm. The town is rugged. Don't be afraid of gentle hills ( almost all towns in Italy are like this).

Lovely beach town with good restaurants. la Piazzaetta is a favorite of the locals who entertained us on open-mike night. Antica Trattoria a Taverna is a long walk uphill to the old town. We had half liter of vino bianco locale with the shared special antipasti served with bread which was very filling. The pasta dishes that followed were delicious but we should have shared that too. Best not to visit Scalea in July or August when it is very crowded. We visited in mid-September and had a very nice time.

Scalea is a warm and friendly town.

Scalea is a warm and friendly town. The restaurants are abundant and serve outstanding Calabrian cuisine. The beaches are some of the most beautiful in the world. If you are traveling with a young family, there is much to do...not to mention how safe Scalea feels.

I had absolutely fantastic stay at Suite 14. Clean, comfortable, quiet. The location is perfect between the train station, beach and the old town. The property owner is super friendly and very helpful. I can highly recommend this place and will for sure come back there once I’ll happen to come to Scalea.

87029house is a boutique hotel located in a rural, picturesque environment near Scalea. The hotel is artistically decorated and features an infinity pool, indoor and outdoor lounging areas, and a breakfast room. Staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful and breakfast was very good.

It was so clean and tidy, I we felt very relaxed there. This is run like a small boutique hotel not B&B's where someone is doing rooms out of an annex. Sergio went above and beyond to make the stay perfect. The breakfast was the best food we had while in the area loved it.

Really exceptional apartment, right by the old town, easy access to the beach and the real part of the city. We had a wonderful stay! The hotel has a little garden, nice breakfast, clearly really taken care of and looking to provide the best stay.
