The Poggiomanente is set in an ancient windmill surrounded by a beautiful garden, with swimming pool and views on the Umbrian hills. Lovely country hotel, great friendly staff, super food and Francesco, the waiter is a star - extremely helpful and patient with Italian non-speakers
Offering a garden, Agriturismo Abbazia di Montecorona is located in Umbertide. Assisi is 20 mi from the property. Free private parking is available on site. Building is quite impressive and rooms are very large and comfortable. Great views onto typical Umbrian countryside Tried some of their wine they present in the room. Very nice and not expensive.
Set among olive groves and fruit trees, family-run Agriturismo Goccia di Luna offers an outdoor pool, restaurant and rustic-style rooms. This 19th-century farmhouse is 2.8 mi from Umbertide. We had a fantastic 5 days! Thanks so much to Goirdano and Sophia! The girls loved the horses and could have stayed for another 2 weeks.
Located in Umbertide, Borgo Fratta Holiday Houses provides accommodations with free WiFi and seating area. The property has been renovated to a very high standard indeed. Everything in the apartment was fantastic. Our hosts, Filipo and Maria were fantastic and explained all the tech in the apartment and also gave us a lovely trot for our breakfast. Such nice people and such a lovely apartment. I thoroughly recommend Borgo Fratta and we will 100% be staying here again next year.
Dating back to 1742, Le Vigne di Pace is a historic farmhouse set in over 50 hectares of private land. It features a large garden with a pool and BBQ, plus vineyards and fruit and vegetable patches. Breakfast was great. Our apartment was clean and large . Great value for the money. The hosts were friendly and gave us great tips for our daily trips to nearby towns. This place is ideal if you are planning to use it as a base for visiting the Umbrian countryside. Be sure to visit Perugia and Montone...

CASA ROSI is located in Umbertide and offers a bar, a shared lounge and a garden. The property is 19 mi from Gubbio, and complimentary private parking is provided. Casa Rosi was a palace compared to my usual stays! I found this place last minute as I was looking desperatly for a place where to spend the night which allowed me to take my bike (I am on a bike touring trip on my own) to the closest bike shop for some urgent repeirments. The price was too much for one person, but the cheapest in all the area, but the apartment was originally for 6 people max, so it would have been cheap to share! The host was super kind and friendly, always very patient with my situation. The house is very clean, modern and central. I had a wonderful night of peace and recharge. Very recommended!!
Although Umbertide is not the most picturesque of Italian towns, it has everything you need and the people are friendly. The best pizzas in town are at The Golden Saloon (don’t be put off by the name!) and a little further towards the old town on the corner there is a qwerky bar with amazing hot chocolate!
Cute little town. Very easy to navigate around. Wonderful Wednesday open market with fresh veggies, fruits, honey, cheeses , olives, fresh eggs and chickens too!! I enjoyed it a lot. Great food too!!! Even the train station serves a great espresso!!!
It's not a true tourist area but is a good base to visit the many surrounding places that are, such as Assisi, Perugia, Montone etc. There is not a great deal of English spoken there but we managed thanks to translating Apps.
The Umbrian countryside left us breathless. We were there for a destination wedding that took place in a church that dated from Roman times. The hillside towns were rich with history and the people were very friendly. We also enjoyed how much animals were apart of life there. We stayed in several places and they all had their resident animals that added a very homey touch.
Umbertide itself is not especially nice as it is a small modern town with just one nice castle in the center. Not many restaurants or shops. It is rather a place not far from other nice towns in the region. But the surrounding villages including Localita Monte Acuto are very nice and placed mostly in the hills and mountains.
Umbertide itself is not particularly interesting but the countryside around it and the art and history of the area superb. We unfortunately visited the town at lunchtime and it was very difficult to find anywhere other than a bar to eat. my recommendations are relating to the countryside around.
