Food was excellent, sophisticated while using simple and fresh local ingredients, and beautifully presented! The baths were very pleasant with an amazing view on their garden (very relaxing). Staff was incredibly helpful and polite (they even helped us figure out the trains to Kyoto and called us a cab). It's located very close to the highway bus stop coming from Tokyo (15min walk), as well as near the temples. We also really enjoyed the kimono experience, Overall, it was a very special moment and the highlight of our trip.

Shimobe Hotel displayed exceptionally friendly and accommodating service for English speakers. The rooms are wonderful and clean and the multiple hot springs are beautiful to experience. There are shows and other facilities provided for enjoyment and leisure. We loved our stay and would recommend everyone to stay and relax at Shimobe Hotel.

I loved the view, I loved the meals, the friendliness of the staff, and the massage chair. This is a stunning, one-of-a-kind gem of a place and will be recommending it to any of my friends who have an interest in mount Fuji.

The hotel room was traditional Japanese Ryokan; very clean and tidy. The spa was also great and walking distance to the lake and other hiking areas. I could see Mount Fuji from my window and dining hall.

Everything! Starting from the huge room with a view to the fuji mountain, the clean common areas and the surroundings. The staff (Hanna!) was just lovely. The kitchen is big and you can prepare all meals. It’s not far from supermarkets and onsens too (with a car).

Everything was amazing!! We checked-in early evening and were welcomed with cold tea and a delicious homemade dessert. The hosts were both very friendly and welcoming. The rooms were perfect as we had an amazing view of Mt. Fuji. They also recommended a delicious restaurant where they dropped us off and picked us up later. They offered breakfast which was the best with a good ambiance music. This is definitely the best place we have stayed in Japan! Thank you for everything!
