Offering free WiFi, Hakodate Onuma Tsuruga Resort EPUY offers accommodations in Nanae, a 3-minute walk from Onuma Park and 0.7 mi from Lake Konuma. Very comfortable hotel with luxury facilities, great food and helpful staffs. The location is wonderful and close to the park. Just five mins walk from the Oonuma Park JR station. There are bikes in the hotel which is free of charges. There is free shuttle from and to JR upon requests.
Located in Nanae, 5 miles from Lake Konuma, Tree House & Open Air Bath has accommodations with free bikes, free private parking, a shared lounge and a garden. We didn’t know what to expect but we had fun at the house. We had a large family room inside the main house and then could play and relax in the tree house. The tree house was a fun hodge-pudge of ramps, ledges, and spaces around a tree. The kids loved it. A nervous grandma would be scared to death. (haha!)
Hotel La'gent Plaza Hakodate Hokuto is a 4-star property located in Hokuto. Among the facilities of this property are a restaurant, a 24-hour front desk and luggage storage space, along with free... Attached to the Shin-Hakodate-Hokuto station so it's the ideal place to stay if taking the shinkansen. Staff were super friendly and the rooms were comfortable. There are one or two small restaurants on the first floor (though I believe they close somewhat early in the evening), along with a convenience store that stays open until late. A great breakfast spread (which is fortunately available quite early in the morning – perfect those who need to catch an early train) that comes with really nice views of the surrounding area. Highly recommended.
If you need a place to get away from the craziness of city life, this is it. The area reminded me of Washington state.....so green and lush and the air felt clean. We did a lot of walking through the town and marveled at the cleanliness of the streams and park. Bicycle rental in the small town area is economical and convenient if you don't have a car.
This is a small town. The people were friendly and it was nice to enjoy the nature around you. There are very few who speak English when traveling in the country so you need to be prepared with ways to communicate. We enjoyed our stay very much. Be sure to bike around the lake and enjoy the squid.
