JR Inn Hakodate, Hotel Paco Hakodate, and Tokyu Stay Hakodate Asaichi Akarinoyu got great room view-related reviews from travelers in Hakodate.
Hakodate is a cute city with an easy-to-use public transportation system. The main areas of interest have their own separate charm. Don't miss the red brick warehouses or the morning market for a sharp contrast of Western and Japanese cultures. The onsens make a perfect end to a day of travel. Cheap accommodation is limited so book your spaces early (I recommend Share Hotel Hakoba). Bring walking shoes and and an empty stomach; there is lots to see and eat there
Hakodate was a great location. It's regional but feels like a thriving city. Absolutely recommend taking the cable car up to Mount Hakodate at sunset as its a truly incredible experience (and pretty cheap). Likewise Goryokaku Park is stunning and well worth the trip out.
Beautiful place that promise you a peaceful and exciting to explore more. Their calmness live stiles and friendly make me enjoyable here. A lot of nature panoramic will keep Hakodate/Hokaido long last in mind
Very pretty city! The locals were nice and the food was great! Would have liked to have seen more but we're only there for a few days. Aesthetically, absolutely sunny in the snow. We came in February during a heavy snow. That combined with the illuminations and the architecture of the city, it was very lovely to rummage around in the snow and observe. The La'Gent is a great hotel with excellent proximity to the train station and food.
Small town feeling with lots of natural charm. Not too many people and plenty of space to walk around. The town has an interesting history and some beautiful scenery. Getting around is relatively easy, with most spots easily and conveniently accessible via the tram and/or on foot. Favourite spots included Motomachi, Goryokaku fort (and the adjacent tower from which the fort can be viewed from above), the morning seafood market and of course the spectacular night view from the top of Mt. Hakodate. Recommended eating spots in the market include Uni Murakami Honten for the best fresh uni (sea urchin), Ikura-tei for great seafood donburi and Ni-ban kan seafood restaurant, where we ate the delicious local Hanasakigani crab. Outside the market, we enjoyed Mei Mei Tei for jingis kan (lamb BBQ) and soup curry with lamb cutlets, and (of course) the famous local hamburger chain Lucky Pierrot (bay branch), as well as the Flower Picnic Cafe in Motomachi for the most insta-worthy interior and delicious cupcakes. While the old British Consulate is a charming building, I am afraid they really don't know how to do scones properly (for scones, the gold standard in Japan is definitely British Hills in Fukushima); we would avoid that next time.
Hakodate is a nice city to visit and there are more interesting lace and attractions to see but unfortunately I have only one day for sightseeing. I went to Hakodate Morning market. then catch a cable to Mount Hakodate to see the city views. It's beautiful scenery on the top view. from Mt. Hakodate. I will com back to explore more places if I have a chance to visit Hakodate again. Thanks.
Hakodate
1. The room is super spacious. 2. The living room and the private bath have ocean view. 3. The mini bar is free of charge. 4. Staff was very helpful and friendly. 5. It's reachable by public buses (95, 95A and 96) from/to Hakodate station. 6. Dinner was awesome. The varieties were beyond expectation. They even served free-flow crabs. 7. Breakfast was great as well. It's better than any hotels I've ever stayed around the globe. 8. Amenities were all provided in the room (unlike other hotels in Japan these days).
This is my second time staying here. It is a brilliant hotel attached to the JR Inn Hakodate station - perfect if you are coming straight off the Shinkansen. There's is a 7-11 in the station and surrounding area and other shops /eateries. The rooms are smart, clean and have great views. Public Sento (hot bath) and free hot drinks such as coffee and tea. You can walk to the sky view cable cart in about 30 mins. I would not stay anywhere else.
The staff was very friendly and accommodating. The location was a hop, skip and a jump away from JR Hakodate Station (5 mins). The hotel was clean and fairly new. My children really enjoyed the family room with bunk beds! It made the experience more memorable. We didn’t stay much at the hotel as we explored Hakodate however, I would stay here again.
Close to Hakodate station. Right next to the local food market and the famous morning fish market. The hotel decoration is antique and beautifully blend in. Not far from many sightseeing spots i.e. Red brick warehouse, the rope way etc. More importantly, the price is very much worth it.
Hakodate
The family of owners were super friendly and went above and beyond to help us out and make sure we were comfortable. Everything was clean and well taken care of. They even helped us ship our luggage to our next hotel!
Close to Hakodate station, in the middle of the fish market, walking distance to mount Hakodate, spacious room with washing machine and drier, well designed common area, hot cocoa and strawberry ice cream.
the bed very comfy, clean and complete utilities. the location very close with morning fish market and near convenience stores also JR station. Must comeback to this hotel. recomended.
The friendly staff and the beautiful, big hotel with free onsen bath inside the hotel. The staff is very kind when allowing us to go to the onsen bathroom at the last minute 9:30am.
