If you drive, the have ample parking, you need to pay but they credit you for time car is not there. Onsen looks right out at canal, so peaceful and relaxing.

The staff were so polite and helpful and they all spoke perfect English. The room was comfortable, clean and spacious. The hotel is a 10 minute walk from the station but it’s very close to the Otaru Canal so the location is perfect! They served free wine from 5pm-6:30pm which was amazing!!

Otaru is so cute!
Otaru is so cute! It was nice to see the canal in the snow and the shops were super cute. Unfortunately for some reason (maybe Covid) it felt like a lot of the shops were closed so that was a bit of a bummer. But the nature was super nice and we had some delicious sushi at Hachi! Overall it was a good 3 night stay.

An interesting working seaside town with an amazing setting. Absolutely stunning in winter and recommend the light festival in the snow. There was a good playpark just out of town past the marina also with lovely views.

Winter is Otaru is amazing.
Winter is Otaru is amazing. Otaru Snow Light Path Festival is the iconic winter event. Stroll along the canal and enjoy the candlelit snowscape make the visit really worthwhile. The city is famous for glassware - a visit to the music box museum and the museum of Kaleidoscope is fascinating, and you can make your own candles, music box, etc. Of course the food is great - you get some of the best sea urchin here. It's easy to get around Otaru - you can easily walk to the canal from the JR station.

The local fresh food market had excellent sashimi and fresh fruit and vegetables and was really fun to visit - locals at the market were so friendly and helpful. The little tourist-y street was also very pretty.

Beautiful small seaport city with all the lovely tourist attractions and good foods. Plenty of parking space (all with different rate, hope the local council can enforce some basic english on parking signage so that tourist knows how to operate the parking vendor machine). The city is very clean and the people are very friendly too.

Cannot give a decent review as arrival was delayed by flight delays and took a day to acclimate and catch up on sleep so didn't have time to do any tours or adequate sightseeing. Sorry. Decided to just dine on seafood and relax and walk around the downtown area the day and a half we had left.

The owner, Hiro, is so friendly, speaks great English and he is an amazing chef! The Ground floor is his Cafe&Bar and he serves fantastic lunch and dinner. I loved his cafe latte which I ordered with the free drink ticket Hiro gave me as a welcome gift to the hotel. I will stay there again.

This Hotel is nicely link to Wing Bay Otaru Shopping mall. There is a Aeon departmental store, many shops & restaurants in the mall. The hotel rooms is very spacious. The room we stayed has a bay view over looking the Otaru bay which is very nice & relaxing. The buffer breakfast has many choice and was really good, the restaurant also has a bay view. Overall a very clean & lovely hotel.

From $226 per nightThe staff was super nice and helpful especially Mr Amano! he help and assist us to change our accommodation..we booked a cottage for 6 pax at first but when we went in there we felt a bit worried for our kids since its really close to the main road and not kids friendly balcony..the 6pax cottage actually nice and it's our fault for not checking it thoroughly before booking it and thanks god there still another place available (apartment with open-air bath 5 adults) and they prepared it for us as soon as possible. Thanks, Mr Amano we really appreciated it. There's 24hr supermarket nearby so it is really convenience for us to cook our own meals. The view is superb..winter wonderland.
