Well placed, roughly five minutes from the main Ikebukuro station and within walking distance of Sunshine City. It’s on the Yamanote line too, so easy to get to major travel locations like Shibuya, Harajuku, etc. The rooms are clean and comfortable, my group was three people and we had a good amount of space and were very comfortable. There’s cooking and entertainment facilities in the room, which was nice when we were tired and just wanted to relax in the evening. Of note — hotel rooms in Tokyo are notorious for being quite small and cramped, but the rooms at Mimaru are huge by comparison. The staff were friendly and helpful as well.

This was my first time staying in a capsule-style hotel, and I was pleasantly surprised by the experience. The entrance can be a little easy to miss at first, so I would recommend checking the location carefully on Street View before arriving. I personally got a little lost the first time, but once you know where it is, it is very easy to find again. The hotel itself is beautiful, modern, and very stylish. The reception area is connected to a spacious common lounge and kitchen area, where breakfast is also served. Guests can choose to add breakfast to their stay. The staff were extremely friendly, attentive, and welcoming, and I also understood that the hotel organizes different events, which adds to the social atmosphere of the place. The common areas are very comfortable and well equipped. There is a shared refrigerator where guests can store their own food and drinks. The hotel provides labels so you can simply write your information on them and label anything you want to keep in the fridge. There are also laundry facilities and elevators, which made the stay even more convenient. Another thing I really appreciated, especially since I stayed during the hot summer season, was the air conditioning. The entire hotel was kept pleasantly cool, both in the common areas and in the sleeping areas. Coming back to such a fresh and comfortable environment after spending the day outside in the heat was definitely a plus. The bathrooms were another highlight. They were modern, spacious, very clean, and well maintained. The shower areas were also equipped with the necessary toiletries and amenities, so everything you might need was readily available. Another very convenient service is luggage storage. You can leave your bags before check-in or after check-out, which is especially useful if you still want to explore the city without carrying everything with you.
