Everything about my stay was exceptional. The location in Chychkan offered the perfect balance of peace and natural beauty. The traditional breakfast was delicious, fresh, and thoughtfully prepared. What stood out most was the warmth and hospitality of the host family—they made me feel completely at home. The opportunity to experience the culture firsthand, relax in a steam bath, and enjoy homemade meals made this a truly unforgettable stay.

After five years of dedication, they are relaunching their horse touring services with a brand-new guesthouse in Barskoon—a unique opportunity for those seeking to immerse themselves in the breathtaking nature surrounding Issyk-Kul Lake. For the past month, I’ve been traveling through four of the Stans, and while I’ve cherished every moment, finding an authentic experience as a foreigner has been challenging. This family not only welcomed me into their home and hearts, but they are also true agents of change in their community. Their newly built cabins are thoughtfully designed—cozy, well-equipped, and even adorned with handmade rugs woven by Grandma. Each day begins and ends with warm hugs from the children—Aizhan, Akbar, Azat, and Aidos—followed by hearty meals prepared by the wonderful Begim, included in the nightly rate. Her husband, the renowned ranger and guide Zholdoshbek Kuban Uulu, also happens to be the town’s English teacher. In just a month and a half, his students, aged 7 to 14, can already hold a conversation with visitors. After the morning lesson, Grandpa drove us to the valley, where we rode their strong, sure-footed horses across breathtaking landscapes of the Tien Shan Mountains. They organize expeditions ranging from single-day rides to 20-day adventures, taking you deep into the wild. They can also help organissing other activities in the surroundings such as eagle hunting demonstrations, hikes through waterfalls and canyons, and more! Soon, they will offer trout fishing and cooking in the valley; and to end the day in the most spectacular way, their banya—a traditional sauna experience—will also be ready when you arrive.

Asel and her mother were very welcoming, even with the language barrier. They made traditional Kyrgyz food, which was delicious. The yurt is really nice, very well decorated. We visited in April which has cold nights, but they equipped the yurt with some space heating, which kept us warm. This was very modestly priced for what we received, it was a great experience! Thank you!

The best hospitality we have ever faced in Kyrgyzstan. The host made a dinner just for two of us (there were no other guests this day). We felt like home.

The whole ambience of the place was different. The way it's laid out, the stone path ways within the property, the common chill area, the lighting of the place and the cozy rooms. This rooms are of a minimalist setup as there are no wardrobes in the rooms, only bedside drawers and the suitcases / bags you carry with you to store your stuff. The property has all necessary facilities like WiFi, kitchen, heated water, parking for a vehicle on property. It's hardwood floors so expect creaks on the stairs and top floors. The only minus point we may have had, though not a considerable issue was that the toilets are towards the end of the property, say about 10-15m away from the rooms. The bathroom / sauna is also another facility and is adjacent to the rooms complex. As a group we didn't feel much of an inconvenience with this setup but this could be the only negative we could point out during our stay here. The host was also very communicative and gave us suggestions and advise about the place. Among the different accommodations we stayed during our weeklong trip to Kyrgyzstan, La Dacha remains one of the favorite stays!!

the property is like your home. the host is super super supportive. we can not speak Russian and Kygyrstani and she can not speak English. but finally we still can communicate via Google Translate and she supported me to call taxi, minivan to Karakol or anything you ask for. I rarely give comments on Booking but this stay is truely not only a stay but like your home.
