Everything was perfect. Breakfast was delicious and the view was to die for. All the staff was friendly and always smiling. The swimming pool was a great space to hang out and watch the Elephants from the pool in the river. Andrew looked after us everyday. Always checked with us if we had a good night sleep and asked if we need anything. Andrew is the best, the Hotel can be very happy to have him working for them. Thanks Andrew you are the best

The staff greeted us at our tuk tuk and took care of our bags. Our room was nice and clean. There's a mini bar, for a fee, and a store right below. It's directly across the street from the elephant orphanage. In the morning, around 10:00, you can watch a herd of elephant cross the street. Quite a site

We really enjoyed our stay in Cabana. The room was nice and clean, we had a small fridge and hot water shower. Harindra who is working there was always happy to help us and fullfiled all our wishes. We had the best Kottu Roshi in this place. We also enjoyed the Ayurveda massage, it was super relaxing and the best massage we ever had. You really feel that the people are professional. My wife is German and also Banda who gave massage could speak German there to her. Very friendly guy. We also enjoyed the elephants. You can ride on them and take nice pictures and also wash the elephants with coconut husk. Sita was a super friendly elephant 🐘😊 We really had a good time with Harindra and his friends, playing cards and the dogs Chiko and Timi liked playing with us. Thank you so much for everything! We will come back! Special thanks to Harindra and Chiko! 😊

The staff are super friendly and room fee includes breakfast at the other good hotel which is really good. The restaurant is by the river and you can watch elephants bathing in the river while having breakfast. You can also use all the facilities including swimming pool at the hotel. And they also offer free tuk tuk to the hotel where you can watch elephants bathing. Also free transportation to the nearest bus stand where you can take bus to Kandy and Colombo.

    Pinnawala basically has 4 main attractions therefore a...

    Pinnawala basically has 4 main attractions therefore a maximum of 2 days is sufficient. The main attraction is the elephant orphanage. Related to that is the elephant bathing at the nearby river which is fascinating. Remember the ticket you purchase for the orphanage is required for the bathing so do both in the same day as the tickets technically only valid for the day (we did not know this so we went to the orphanage in the evening and went to see the bathing the next day.. however the kind ticket officers let us go). Then there is a mini zoo where animals roam in more space than usual. You can feed animals here which could be fascinating (for a small fee). Then there is a traditional village called Iparini Gama where you can experience live style of a traditional sri lankan village.

    Spectacular area to get up and close with elephants. Unique experience with elephants walking thru the village for their daily bathing. General accommodation facilities were good. Bars and eateries also of reasonable standard. We stayed at Grand Royal Pinnalanda and found this quite satisfactory in services and value.

    Amazing experience to watch the elephants bathing. A number of souvenir shops on the street and limited food options. We ate in our hotel. Shops don't stay open late as most tourists leave for the day. 1 night is enough.

    The staff were very obliging.

    The staff were very obliging. We arrived at 1am, this was not a problem and they greeted us warmly. Next morning we watched elephants in river from our balcony. The events coordinator took us to a place where we could walk and swim with elephants. He stopped on side of road on way back to try coconut milk. Wonderful staff. We found the breakfast not quite to European tastes.

    We extend our heartfelt appreciation to the complete hotel staff for their remarkable kindness and assistance, which undoubtedly enhanced our stay. We reserve special gratitude for Andrew, our tour guide, whose warm welcome and generous gesture of taking us on a village tour with his car left a lasting impression. Most notably, witnessing the elephants relishing their river bath was an extraordinary experience. The soothing sound of the river from our room added a truly relaxing touch to our stay.

    Very cozy, beautiful village house surrounded by nature. Comfortable, beautiful bed, all necessary accessories. Wonderful view of banana fields, various plants. Very nice, sincere, helpful hosts. The hosts grow a lot of different fruit near the house. Everywhere is amazingly clean. Very friendly manager Andrew. Delicious breakfast in the hotel, which is near Village Pinnawala. This village house is a refreshment for the soul!! We recommend 100 percent!! We will come back soon.

    The main treasure was the location and the view, possibility to observe unbelievably picturesque life of elephants sitting on the balcony. Breakfast excellent, food, cocktails, catering service - perfect. When arriving from the airport, the pool helps to adapt the hot climate we're not used to. Would suggest this hotel to begin the voyage in Sri Lanka - a very impressive start. The room was moderately clean, so the bathroom. Very comfortable bed.
