Rabat does not immediately reveal her charms. But she has many, just waiting to be discovered. Tour Hasan, the Chellah, the Kasbah, cafes overlooking the river or the sea. You can wander without harassment suffered in busier tourist spots like Marrakech or Fès.
The people of Morocco were inspiring. My only issue as an animal lover was the lack of spay/neuter. Many dogs/cats were taken care of but more needs to be done. Incredible culture. Wish I could drink the water.
Very nice place, busy, colourful, lively, abundance of smells and tastes. Caution is required in terms of food as even in proper restaurants the hygiene standards are quite low. In the markets, even restaurants the prices are not displayed and tourists will be extracharge. Try to negotiate everything.
Our stay was too short but very enjoyable. Our Riad was within walking distance of all the major attractions which was great. We visited the beach, which was empty except for a few kids and young people, Fort Rottembourg, the Gardens, and Chellah. While we were able to see Hassan Tower, mausoleum of Mohammed and the Royal Palace, we could not go near or take pictures because it was blocked off by police. It seems like they were awaiting an important dignitary, we thought most likely a visit from the king. There were oolice officers everywhere and they were diverting traffic strategically.
If you arrive by train, you want the station for Rabat Ville.......there are 2 main stations! Where the station is located is very French/West African formal in architecture and feel but when you approach the areas round the medina, and the medina itself, it becomes very Morrocan but with other African influences. It's beautifully chaotic, just take a deep breath and you'll be ok! Everyone is super friendly and approachable, sometimes even the most unlikely looking! Found that French did the job if you had no Arabic and older people were less likely to have English. The Kasbah is beautiful in blue and white and the Atlantic view fantastic. There are some very insistent would-be guides who'll tell you that you have to pay, you need to be accompanied and that they can whizz you round in an hour as it will close soon.......all complete nonsense! You can enter from the beach side with no hassle! The beach is dirty but Sale on the other side is super clean........they brush the sand!! Sorry to leave!!!
Parts of Rabat are modern as the City is trying to come into the 21st century but it seems the older part of the city and it's people are not moving at all. The newer part of town is clean but the older is not as clean. Great place to see from a private car tour as getting around to all the sites take a long time as the city is quite large. A private car should only cost around 15 euro an hour

A fantastic stay from the moment we arrived. The hotel concierge helped us to park in the side alley, which is private and manned by security. The hotel is very safe and clean and offers room service until 10pm with a great menu. It is right next to the medina which is great to walk around, without getting hassled like you do in other cities. There are also some amazing restaurants down by the seafront. This is the best place to stay in Rabat.

When we arrived they offered us for free a bigger room that was not going to be occupied, was really gentle! The room was really clean and nice. The place it self was really well decorated. The staff in the hotel was very kind and recommended us a nice and economic restaurant to have dinner! The breakfast was great and they let us leave the luggage while we were visiting Rabat. You are really close to the river, and some nice spots to visit.

The lady hosting the riad is very kind, helpful and welcoming. After a long trip, arriving to a fresh mint tea and traditional cookies was the perfect call. Breakfast at this riad was one of the best we experienced whilst in Maroco. The bath in our room was great for some pampering time. In a few words, would highly recommend this property to anyone planning a trip to Rabat.

A lovely riad located in the heart of the medina. It was wanderfull to oper the door and enter the magical world inside with its amasing marocan design. If you are looking for authentic marocan riad this is the place. The owners are welcoming and kind. After a week in good hotels around the country we had the best marocan brekfest so far! Hope to come back soon!

The riad is located in the middle of the chaotic medina, very nice and hectic area with food market very close (it is silent at night). The room was comfortable and the riad is traditional maroccak style with a cosy Parine and well kept rooms. The nicest part was the managing lady who was extremely helpful and kind with us. To be recommended.
