Excellent little place for the money. Bouchra is a fantastic host and went way beyond expectations to ensure I had a good stay. Tea and biscuits on arrival, a decent breakfast, got laundry done for me and organised a local guy to take me on a couple of trips at a great price. The room was relatively basic but very comfy, and I loved that it had adaptor plugs so that you could plug more than one device in beside the bed! We ate at the restaurant La Kasbah which was wonderful and very good value. There are hikes, bouldering, climbing, and cycling opportunities all around. There is a wonderful shop run by Ali with all kinds of natural products - we bought Amlou, Argan oil (edible) and three different types of honey (cactus, carob, orange)
Tafraoute and surroundings are a blisful world away from Marrakech hustle. I'm hesitant to be too openly positive about this place, as I'd like it to remain somewhat off the beaten track. Tafraoute is a must-go if you want to experience true hospitality in a mind-boggling mountain backdrop. Don't go if you're in a rush. You'll want to stay.
Kasbar a great place to eat a 3 course meal for less than £8 with coffee. Great little market, fantastic climbing and the painted rocks are interesting place to wonder and relax. Stunning mountains and interesting carpet shop owners. Take extra money for a rug!!!! You will get shafted on the cost of a trinket which is 7 times cheaper at the airport but makes for a great experience!!
Tafraoute is never going to be on the average tourist circuit. It's a typical, scruffy southern Moroccan town in an unforgiving landscape. But it has some treasures: it's justifiably famous for its intricate embroidered Berber babouches and silver filigree work; it has several authentic hammams; the Belgian artist Jean Verame's blue painted rocks 5 kms outside of town are unique and breathtaking; It has a couple of good restaurants, notably the dining room in the Hotel Amandiere; the oases 30 kms south of the town are magnificent!
This is the great place with fantastic landscape, fabulously placed in the middle of picturesque mountains! Loved it, loved it, loved it! I've been there four times already and I don't have enough!
Great village for a true Moroccan experience. Lovely restaurants for tagine etc, lots of great cafes, lovely fresh fruit and veg stalls everywhere. Locals really friendly and lots of hiking/places to visit close by.
We enjoyed staying in this village and the traditional design of the place. It was a great choice to stay outside Tafraoute to sense better the peace of the village and nature around. Watching sunsets and sunrises was great from the roof terrace. Dinners were very tasty, although probably slightly more expensive than some other places. We highly recommend also visiting the village museum (the house next door) with a guide. We enjoyed it a lot.
Tafraout
This apartment has everything we needed to enjoy a short stay in Tafraout. The kitchen is fully stocked, the furniture is comfy, and the staff was really kind and helpful. It was also very clean, which is so important to me. It's an easy walk from the main parts of Tafraout, and a convenient place for driving to see the blue rocks and the gorges of Ait Mansour (which you can't miss!). I highly recommend it.
Tafraout
The owner (?) is a very friendly and welcoming young man. The decor is nice. The shower had hot water and nice pressure. Getting there by car is easy and street parking is available. Breakfast, at a small additional cost, is well worth it. We stayed for two nights. There is plenty to see and do in the beautiful Tafraoute region, even if the town itself is not too interesting from a touristic perspective.
Tafraout

Everything was pretty much spectacular. The property, the host’s hospitality and attention, the food - I could not have wished for a better hotel experience - especially in a faraway place like Tafraoute. Thank you Jean, we’ll come stay with you again very soon.

Bouchra was a gracious welcoming hostess, friendly, kind & helpful. My room was spacious, tastefully furnished in a traditional style. Both room & bathroom were spotless. The location is quiet but just a 15 - 20 min walk from the centre of Tafraout
For the money you pay the value is really good in this hotel. It is not a 5 star but quite clean for Morocco, warm in the winter and very central. WiFi is working great and speedy.
Nice kasbah 4 kilometers fro Tafraoute. Friendly welcome from Maroccan manager. Nice pool with views to mountains.
