Located in El Cuyo, Casa Mate BeachFront Cabañas El Cuyo offers beachfront accommodations a few steps from Playa El Cuyo and features various facilities, such as a restaurant, a bar and a garden. Although the all inclusive option is not what you would normally expect (it is one main dish for each meal and non alcoholic beverage) it was one of my best all inclusive stays ever. The food is small in quantity however it is excellent. Even now when I write this my mouth get filled joy. The have a shaded hammock on the beach (direct access, a few steps from your bed) and beds on the sandy property with umbrellas. You can buy your alcohol (with local hops) and drink it with your meals, but apart from this we never needed to buy anything. Super safe and very easy going. I hope the transport options from the airport never get better so the El Cuyo can stay the same. Last but not least it is true what many others say in their reviews - RAUL and his staff are amazing.
Located in El Cuyo, Hotel La Casa Cielo offers a private beach area. With an outdoor swimming pool, the property also features a garden, as well as a terrace. The property is unexpectedly lovely. It's a really beautiful 2.5 hour drive from Cancun airport, through farmland, jungle villages and small towns. As you drive into El Cuyo, the town itself has a handful of stores and restaurants and some run-down building... and then you stumble into paradise. The hotel building is gorgeous. Each room faces out towards the beach and has mirrored-glass doors, so when you're sitting in the pool or hot tub looking at the hotel, you see palm trees and ocean reflected back at you. The place was immaculately clean, the food was phenomenal, and the beach is basically empty. We ventured out in search of food a few times, but nothing was as good as the hotel food (though El Chile Gordo came close). On Saturday and Sunday mornings, a gentleman in town sets up a pushcart on the main drag, selling tacos with the meat from a pig he roasted in-ground overnight. This was a most delicious meal as well (and cheap at 20 pesos for 2 tacos!) The hotel staff were friendly without being overbearing. They were always happy to answer questions or point you in the right direction. Some of the staff don't speak English, but there is always a way to communicate if you are willing to try! This is the type of place you visit when you want to do nothing except read, relax, swim, eat, sleep, repeat. The staff kept saying "Don't tell anyone about us!" That said - I feel confident the right type of people will find this place, and the rest will stay in Cancun or Playa ;)
Boasting a restaurant, garden and views of garden, Casa Cuyo Hotel, Restaurant is located in El Cuyo, 984 feet from Playa El Cuyo. The owners were super friendly, it was clean, there were hot showers and the accomodation is beautiful. Would definitely come back!
Set in El Cuyo, LunArena is a charmant Beach Condo designed and built in the respect with nature, settled between ocean, lagoon and jungle. It features an outdoor swimming pool. Spending time at Lunarena was such a magical experience. This place right in the middle of the jungle will make you feel at home. The staff is super friendly and food is delicious. Im vegan so I asked for a vegan breakfast and without a doubt they made it for me.
Located in Las Coloradas, Posada Las Coloradas features a restaurant, terrace and free WiFi. The tour desk is available to assist guests in planning their days out. One of the few available places around. Very clean rooms! Would say that besides the minor con’s it’s a perfect choice to see the nearby pink lakes Easy going when it comes to late check-in’s. Includes restaurant that also serves breakfast (appeared to be one of the better ones around but there aren’t to many anyways).
Casa Maya Lodge is a rustic-style property set at El Cuyo Beach in Yucatán. The property is located in a private residential area and features free Wi-Fi via USB for laptops. Everything!! Magally was super! She helped me settling in; always inquiring whether I needed something!!
This bright-colored property is located in El Cuyo, facing the Caribbean Sea, inside a private residential area. It offers free Wi-Fi access via USB for laptops and is a pet-friendly establishment. Location, location, location! Great value for money. The facilities and house equipment (stove, fridge, microwave, coffee maker) were more than ok. The penthouse bed is huge and comfy. Nice terrace. I'd stay there again.
Located in El Cuyo, 328 feet from Playa El Cuyo, Hacienda Antigua Villa, 164 ft from sandy Beach features accommodations with a garden, free WiFi, a 24-hour front desk, and room service. Location was excellent. A minute walk to the beach. Nice screened in patio to sit out on a t night. huge living room and kitchen. Located on the tip of the Yucatan Peninsula in Puerto del Cuyo, Hacienda Antigua features colonial-style architecture, free WiFi for laptops and sits only 230 feet from the beach. We made our own breakfast and could buy everything we needed in El Cuyo. The beach was lovely and a short walk away. The people were really friendly and the town had a few places to eat. Lots of lovely dogs too.

It's a very remote village. No big grocery store. You have to buy and transport almost all your supplies. The owner warned us and we were prepared. You can buy some food from locals who go door-to-door, but you never know when they will appear. There are several cafes and restaurants now, to serve a growing number of kite-surfers who come from all over the world. El Cuyo is known for its wind and surf -- especially in the afternoon. Not a good time to swim. Some people, like us, love this village because it's so remote and the people are very friendly. Other people would go nuts!
Small village on the beach. Basic amenities, but best to bring in your own supplies. There are several small tiendas, where you get get water, beer, snacks, fruit. The town is nice, people are friendly. There are a few restaurants, but not much to do here, but relax, swim, kite surf.
A place to relax and to feel the tranquility of the Yucatan Peninsula, friendly people in town and long beaches to walk and if you are a bird lover....head to the lagoon and look for flamingoes, adults, juveniles and babies.
Great place for kitesurfing, good little restaurants, and its a very peaceful town. I went to eat to El Chile Gordo, Casa Cuyo Restaurant, La Conchita and cochinita pibil on the weekends I did some fishing on the dock, and i could watch some dolphin families there.
Great place! Almost and of the world. No ATMs, no gas station, no super markets, no loads of people. There are a few local restaurant, with nice food. Be aware that sometimes they are open in different times than google says, just check. Beatufill empty beach! Great spot to forget about everything and just relax. Also great spot for kiteboarding!
Staying at Casa Cielo made our stay in El Cuyo a fantastic one. The town also has a lovely small and sleepy feel to it, with children playing on the street and dogs everywhere, and going out onto the jetty at dusk when people are fishing is lovely. Most restaurants close very early, but a couple are open until 21.30, including the brilliant Chile Gordo, which is delicious!! Most visitors seem to come for kite-surfing, which apparently is very good, but we used it as a base to visit other sites during the day and come back to in the evening. Distances are long, but coming back to this charming place was worth it! And it's definitely worth spending one full day there just to relax and enjoy the beach, pool and village!
