I love Merida. The people are courteous, the food is great.
I love Merida. The people are courteous, the food is great. It's a beautiful city with much to do. We visited the Plaza. My kids enjoyed the ice skating rink. We ate at different cafés and we also ate at the food court. The tacos there was superb. We moved around in taxis, which was relatively affordable. Never mind the first taxi we caught charged us 300 pesos. ( AVG cost of taxi is about 100 pesos).

Beautiful historic city with great selection of restaurants.
Beautiful historic city with great selection of restaurants. Best to go in the dry seasons since we experienced floods that made it tough to drive around. Avoid June if possible and beware mosquitoes. Initially it can be confusing to navigate the streets by car, since many are one way- but the grid system of roads is easy to understand after a day.
Good to do a walking tour of the city to see the old architecture

You need to rent a car in order to travel around. I have had a base stay in Merida. Merida is general overpriced and that doesnt mean the quality will follow for the value of the money. Merida itself is not interesting at all.

We really liked the city.
We really liked the city. You need to understand the bus situation and we tried, bought bus passes, tried using them but they were not coded the way our phone was displaying so we ended up using taxi service for all of our visitations to museums, central, restaurants, etc. It wasn't expensive but much more than the simple bus or combi travel would have been. Merida has lots to offer, especially with tours outside of the city, a bus trip to the beach in Progresso for 25 pesos each way, very cheap, cenotes, pyramids, on and on!
Gorgeous property in a great central location. Really helpful staff and delicious breakfast (best eggs we’ve had in Mexico!). The pool is very welcome after hot days exploring around Merida. Very friendly vibe and relaxing communal areas ideal for family card games and relaxing. Mini fridge in the room is a bonus!
The hotel itself was beautiful. It has a lovely terrace and natural pool and the hammock in our room was a nice touch. The breakfast was tasty and the staff were really friendly. Would definitely recommend this place. Probably my favourite of all the places we stayed in Mexico.
Spent a month in Mexico travelling and this was my favourite hotel of the 8 we stayed in.
Loved the style. Loved the easy access to tea, coffee etc any time of day.
Excellent location.
Freshly cooked breakfast each day with huge selection of fresh fruits and juces.
Lovely hotel, with a fantastic host.
Best coffee we'd had in Mexico.
The pool was great (we mostly had it to ourselves).
Comfortable bed, lovely room, nice decor.
The location was also good, walkable distance to everywhere we wanted to go.
The most beautiful accommodation we had in Mexico. Unfortunately, we were only here for one night, which was very unfortunate. The pool was great, although cold. Everything was clean and easy to understand. Parking was available on the street.
