I love Merida. The people are courteous, the food is great.
I love Merida. The people are courteous, the food is great. It's a beautiful city with much to do. We visited the Plaza. My kids enjoyed the ice skating rink. We ate at different cafés and we also ate at the food court. The tacos there was superb. We moved around in taxis, which was relatively affordable. Never mind the first taxi we caught charged us 300 pesos. ( AVG cost of taxi is about 100 pesos).

Beautiful historic city with great selection of restaurants.
Beautiful historic city with great selection of restaurants. Best to go in the dry seasons since we experienced floods that made it tough to drive around. Avoid June if possible and beware mosquitoes. Initially it can be confusing to navigate the streets by car, since many are one way- but the grid system of roads is easy to understand after a day.
Good to do a walking tour of the city to see the old architecture

You need to rent a car in order to travel around. I have had a base stay in Merida. Merida is general overpriced and that doesnt mean the quality will follow for the value of the money. Merida itself is not interesting at all.

We really liked the city.
We really liked the city. You need to understand the bus situation and we tried, bought bus passes, tried using them but they were not coded the way our phone was displaying so we ended up using taxi service for all of our visitations to museums, central, restaurants, etc. It wasn't expensive but much more than the simple bus or combi travel would have been. Merida has lots to offer, especially with tours outside of the city, a bus trip to the beach in Progresso for 25 pesos each way, very cheap, cenotes, pyramids, on and on!
One of the best hotels we've been in Mexico so far :)
Greatly located near town center, huge rooms, nice shared kitchen (some rooms have their own kitchen), Wifi works well, parking available, beautiful backyard with a lot of plants and clean pool, and very friendly staff. All that for an unbeatable price. There is absolutely nothing to complain about. Would highly recommend to stay here!
Great location close, very nice new rooms with nice view. The best part was the gym and the swimming pool on the roof. We enjoyed our stay so much that we stayed in Merida for 5 nights - this was our longest stay in Mexico. Would come back to this hotel.
Stayed at this cozy Casa in Mexico and loved it! Clean rooms and had a real family vibe. The place is nice and quiet. The staff is awesome, really friendly and made me feel right at home. Totally recommend it! 😊
Perfect for our stopover in Merida. Easy check in, great facilities, best shower we had in Mexico. Kitchen to prepare breakfast was an added bonus. We didn't use the pool but it looked nice.
