DIEZ DIEZ COLLECTION, Hacienda Xcanatun by Angsana, and Hotel Hacienda Mérida VIP got great room view-related reviews from travelers in Mérida.
Nice medium-sized city in Mexico with beautiful colonial architecture around the plaza. Good street food and easy/close access to the beach town of Progresso. We would have enjoyed it much more had it not been so damn hot!
We took a taxi to Playa Progreso. It is a beautiful beach and clean water. We also visited a nature center (forgot the name of it). And of course, spent a day wandering at the central park and saw the cathedrals. We were only there for two days because the reason for the trip was to visit the medical facility (Star Medical). We plan to go back and book a hotel at Playa Progreso and if we want to spend more time in Central Merida, we can take a taxi. We may rent a car. The playa is about 30 minutes from central Merida and there are additional places that we want to visit and don't want to rely on a taxi the entire stay.
Merida is beautiful, tranquil and most of all safe. As a female solo traveler, I was drawn to Merida because of other FST reviews. There is so much to see and do here in Merida. The people are friendly, the food is good and the sights are breathtaking. Walk Paseo Montejo and take in the historic buildings and sounds of the streets, the horse and buggy rides and the atmosphere makes me happy. I walk late at night all around Merida and never have I felt unsafe. This is a great place to visit or live, which is what iI decided to do.
Nothing is in Merida. The tacos are the worse in the United States of Mexico. The mosquito which are the most deadliest insect of all is in control of all of Merida. Cool for a day or two but longer is not advised.
A beautiful city , historic traditional cultural museums ,cathedrals & beautiful buildings maya art, great markets , cool shady parks & green spaces . Amazing attractions Cenotes & fantastic Zoo Less touristy than many beach resorts. A great selection of food and very inexpensive . We extended out stay ,we loved it so much
Great City. Hot. Very Hot. People are super nice and always trying to help in terms of directions. The city is super clean and the Centro Historico is amazingly beautiful. Lots of restaurants, cafes, theatres and bars. Paseo Montejo is lovely to walk at night, restaurants, bars and big amazing houses. I highly recommend this city.
Definitely a place to come back or choose in Merida! Great experience. They are very caring, welcoming and nice. We were feeling like at home. Extremely nice breakfast prepared in house with local natural food. The best coffee we had at places we were staying in Mexico. Very local colorful design in the hotel reception and very cosy rooms with access to a common nice teras. We were told about nice local bars and restaurants which we tried and they were all great. I strongly recommend this place. Its walking distance to everywhere.
Good location, within easy walking distance of the center of town and the ADO bus terminal. The Hotel and rooms looked great, the U shaped pool was long enough to swim laps. We dropped of our luggage a few hours before check-in, stayed by the reception, for a very small fee. They were doing some repainting, workers were unobtrusive and quiet. WIFI and water pressure was better than most places I stayed in Mexico. Beds were fairly comfortable. It would be a great value if not for the issues.
The room was absolutely beautiful, overlooking the nice swimming pool area. The staff was super helpful and always very friendly, very quiet hotel, beautiful building - the best place we stayed for a while! We only planned to stay 1 night in Merida, but stayed a couple more to enjoy the peace and quiet after a month of travelling through Mexico. Thanks again to the staff for making us feel right at home! Kind regards, Dax & Chloë
This is a very nice boutique hotel close to the very center of Merida. The staff were very friendly and the room was amazing -- Highly recommend reserving a loft room as it is two floors and has a nice balcony and view. Other rooms are much smaller. We enjoyed the well equipped kitchen and the free snacks. Bed was comfortable and everything worked well, including the AC and tv. We would stay here again for sure.
Casa Tavera is a wonderful gem in the heart of Merida. We recently stayed here for 5 days while attending a wedding and cannot compliment the property and staff enough. The hotel is a true boutique hotel offering 7 rooms, fresh daily breakfast, a pool and lounge area and incredibly hospitable staff.
The gentleman at Reception, I believe his name is David was exceptional.Very polite very helpful in ordering a Taxi etc. Kudos to David. We checked in after midnight due to Aeroméxico 3 hour delay from México City. David greeted us and made the terrible service from Aeroméxico a little better.
It was the best surprise during the trip in Mexico. The whole place it's so well maintained, the decoration it's amazing and all the details are great. The stuff its very polite and friendly and the location it's very good to explore around by walking.
This hotel is not bad, but the worst from the 7 hotels we were staying at during our Mexico road trip. Central location is a plus. It has a nice shaded patio with a small fountain. There is a pleasant pool. Breakfast was OK, but nothing special. It was cheap.
The owner who let us in was very nice and gave us good advice for our stay and what to do. Staff was very nice. Very nice atrium and garden with small pool. Nicest habitation I had in whole mexico. Very recommended
The location is excellent, downtown, close to the best restaurants. The hotel is clean very simple, but they keep it ok. They have parking spaces in the same building that in Mérida is not always often downtown.
A magical place in the heart of Merida. Gorgeous architecture, impeccable sense of style and elegance, great attention to detail, tranquil, charming, spotless. With no doubt the best boutique hotel in Merida!
The location is really good, it has pool and really nice design. Friendly staff as everywhere in lovely Mexico :) The room is big enough and has everything that you need.
Superb hotel, but above all I have to mention Armando, we have not seen such a kind and helpfull person in all our trip to Mexico. He is a true jewel of this hotel.
Mérida
Great, place, great people, great food, great location, great price, great organisation, one of my best stays here in Mexico! Thanks guys!!
The hotel is located in a historic building in downtown Mérida, which also has a nice local food restaurant.
Very nice and professional staff - speak fluently english in comparison to most of people in Mexico!
Great hotel we always stay there when we travel to Merida and surroundings
The hotel was fantastic! It's in the best location in Merida, the rooms were big , comfortable and well equipped, staff were super attentive and the breakfast was absolutely great (we'd encourage you to include the breakfast in your stay). The whole experience from start to finish was great, and made navigating Merida with a young family a really enjoyable experience!
When coming to Merida, we always stay at the El Conquistador. It is centrally located and in a beautiful area of the city on the Paseo Montejo. Staff are friendly and most speak some English which makes it easy for us.
Comfortable beds, great shower and jacuzzi. The restaurant food is delicious!
