Guadalajara is a big city. The historical center has multiple museums and interesting old buildings. There are many parks and wonderful shopping. Places to stay options are abundant and vary from hostels to first class hotels .A great city to spend 2 or 3 nights.
The only problem I encountered was the new additional rooms that were added. The shower wouldn't drain when I first arrived and after maintenance fixed it, it still drained slow, so I had to turn shower off often so it wouldn't overflow onto bathroom floor.
Guadalajara is my husband’s hometown and we love visiting. It is a vibrant city filled with things to do from sports to art. It’s more than 500 years old and has a lot of history. The food is AMAZING and you can find everything from traditional to modern and international. It’s also close to several pueblos mágicos such at Tequila and Comala.
Worst hotel ever!!! Dirty bathroom. Awfully disrespectful staff. Not iron available. Shower not working properly. You feel unsafe in the room, they don’t even have a decent front desk and the walking entrance is the same as the cars’. It’s a momentary Motel of a very appalling range.
I went to Guadalajara to study Spanish for three weeks. I picked this city because it didn't seem to have many American tourists. I was right! It didn't. I never saw anyone who looked like me in town, which I was fantastic because it meant I wouldn't have to speak English! I found the people of Guadalajara to be very kind, and very warm. I don't recommend staying in the historic center of the city. It felt a little seedy to me, and all the friends I met warned me not to walk outside at night. I didn't love that, but it was what it was. During the day however, the neighborhood was fine. I would suggest looking at places to stay in an adjacent neighborhood called Colonia Americana. Much cleaner, with a nicer feeling to it. As far as visiting Guadalajara goes, I found that I could see all the sights in about two or three days. If you add side trips to places like Tlaquepaque, Tonalá, Chapala and Ajijic, add a few more days for those. And I recommend you visit those places. Lots to see and do in each of them, but in two or three days you can see all four of them easily. I did all of them, and loved them all. I also recommend the IMAC Language School in Guadalajara if you'd like to learn Spanish. Excellent instruction at all levels.
This visit, we hired a private driver/guide recommended by our hotel. Would recommend at least one day with a tour guide to get an overall view. This will give an opportunity to go back and visit places of interest. Once oriented, you can take advantage of excellent public transportation, including subways, Uber, Taxi, or bus. Restaurant recommendations are plentiful. There are many excellent Mexican as well as international restaurants. A great city for Foodies. One can find all price points for any meal. Also, this is the heart of Mexican arts and crafts, as well as Tequila! Great night life. I wish I was younger! Something for everyone.
Everything was perfect, quick check in and out, car parked indoor, right next to the lobby. Staff ready to bring luggage to the room, which was very spacious with a great shower and very comfortable beds. Perfect room size for 4 guests. Buffet breakfast also great for the price with very friendly staff who pay attention to guests every need. Bravo! Definitely my hotel next time in Guadalajara, hopefully for a stay longer than one night. The price through Booking.com was impossible to beat, considering the quality of the hotel.
Guadalajara
We enjoyed our stay at Bohostel. It is located in nice and safe neighbourhood (a bit loud at night though, but earplugs help a lot here), 30 min walk from Zona Centro. In close proximity there are bars and restaurants as well as groceries and laundries. Right in the hostel there is Boho Cafe offering tasty breakfasts and quality coffee. On the rooftop one can enjoy Guadalajara view. Room was clean and equipped in fan and TV. Staff was very nice and helpful.
I stayed 1 night with my family. Indeed we were two families returning to CDMX from Mazatlan. So we needed to stay a night in Guadalajara. Beds were comfortable. Room was clean. All the members of the family liked the design of the room which is unusual for us. All the systems (TV, phone, cafe maker etc.) were working properly. Check-in and out were fast. Breakfast was good. All the staff was very polite and helpful. I recommend this hotel for families.
I liked the Dali Plaza Hotel staff very much. The room was comfortable, with a great view of the Guadalajara Cathedral. The location reminded me of Times Square in the 1980s. There is a lovely neighborhood 15 minutes away called Colonia Americana. I never saw anyone who looked like me staying at the hotel, which was great because it meant I had lots of opportunity to practice my Spanish, and avoid English, as I hoped to do.
Guadalajara
The owner is a wonderful person who radiates infinite good vibes. Staff are the nicest people. Family atmosphere. Excellent location close to Chapultepec and the clubs and bars. 5 minute Uber to Centro. Can't say enough good things, just know where I'm staying again I'm Guadalajara if I want to have a good time 🙂
The room was awesome. The bed was comfortable and the room size was more than enough for having a great time. Furthermore the young man on the reception did a great job and was very helpful. We highly recommend this place. One of the best hotels at our journey around mexico. At the end the gym were well equipped.
It was a VERY HOT weekend in Guadalajara and our Airbnb did not have AC. So we decided to spend our last night in town at the most gringo hotel we could find. It was exactly what we needed. Cold AC, cold beer, Mexican wine and they were able to schedule a nice cab to take us to the airport at 4:30 in the morning.
There are good things about this place - location, style, atmosphere - but each has a dark side (quiet location by day but, at night, the bar across the street blasts music until 0200). Overall, a commensurately stylish, comfortable hotel in Mexico City would cost less than this one Guadalajara.
Location was right in centro. Staff very helpful. Valet parking included in price. However the entrance to the hotel appeared to be on a pedestrian only street. So it was confusing at first. Lovely older hotel with rooms off a central two story foyer area. Standard room tho had no window
Guadalajara
Very spacious 3 bedroom, 3 bathroom suite with a good sized kitchen. All bedrooms had a kitchen and full bathroom. Nice hotel location, close to boutique restaurants... nice change from the hustle of the city and centro. Very good value for your money.
Very charming and comfortable hotel a block from the main strip of the Centro Historico de Tlaquepaque. Lovely rooms with big beds and AC for the hot spring months. I loved the Talavera tiles in the bathroom. We would definitely stay here again.
Beautiful Mexican hotel with loads of cute details and traditional decor. It's a haven! Lovely staff, good breakfast, comfortable bed and very clean. This will be our hotel of choice from now on when visiting Guadalajara!
Very nice hotel, modern, clean, excellent shower, amazing bed. English staff available at reception and very helpful. Great location in Centro. Metro line # 2 outside hotel entrance. Excellent value.
best hotel in Guadalajara great breakfast with big selection of food , great location around lots of restaurants and big mall.. rooms has opening windows , so that fresh air can come in
The location for travelers to Centro cannot be beat. Walk out the door and your there with all of the historic attractions of Guadalajara. Room is huge and the beds are comfortable.
Creo que es un buen hotel y si regresara a Guadalajara, me volveria a hospedar en el. Great hotel and I would stay in this same hotel if I returned back to Guadalajara.
Close to airport for early morning flight Modern clean hotel 24 hour concierge and cafe
