Everything! Especially Brit! We arrived a bit sleep deprived and disheveled and she led us directly to our room, explaining everything along the way. She was super friendly, helpful and delightful! The whole staff was great. The room was comfy, as were the beds. The location was right in the old town square, which was beautiful. The restaurant at the hotel was also great.

The suite was very comfortable. The king bed was a treat and the room was surprisingly quiet as it was on a busy street. Anne was our staff contact and had everything in order for us.

The team was professional, courteous and kind. My room was clean and tidy daily which added to the comfort. The location description was accurate noting about 7 min walk to the center of Haarlem which was perfect! I got to see and explore so much more of the city. Sadly I was there for work and never got to eat at the restaurant but it was always full of laughter and smiles. Overall, cozy and quaint and would highly recommend.

Haarlem is a pretty town, and a lively destination.
Haarlem is a pretty town, and a lively destination. I mainly walked around, looking at the canals and houses. One of my photos shows one of the older canalside housing (green door). The station is a lovely Art Nouveau building with tiled pictures, the only one in the Netherlands. Transport is easy, and Haarlem is convenient for Amsterdam, Leiden, etc, and for visiting the bulb fields at Keukenhof in spring.

Haarlem is beautiful in it's own right with lots of historic buildings, and charming streets which have been greened with tree, shrub and flower planting. There is the Frans Hals museum to visit, and much more. Take a walking tour of "Monumental Haarlem"
Haarlem is also very conveniently situated for Amsterdam and surrounding areas. We used public transport all the time. Just swipe on and off the bus or train, and everything is taken care of. Really simple, and it all works smoothly.
We also found some really good restaurants for our evening meals.

Haarlem is a wonderful city to stay in as it has the canals, lots of history, good shopping and plentiful restaurants.
The Grotemarkt has the oldest organ in Europe which Mozart played on and Corrie Ten Boom’s house(who hid the Jews in WW2) is better than Anne Franks! The very first museum in the Netherlands is also here-Teylers. The Saturday market is wonderful.
It is only 15 minutes by train back into Amsterdam and you have a better feel of regular Dutch folks in this beautiful town.
Our stay in this Haarlem B&B, right in the heart of the city and easily accessible from Amsterdam Schiphol Airport, was a delight. Ad and Esther, our hosts, went above and beyond with their caring nature and hearty breakfasts. The B&B’s old-world charm added to the experience, but it was the personal attention from Ad and Esther that truly made our visit special. Choosing Haarlem as our base, with a quick 20-minute trip to Amsterdam, proved to be a fantastic plan. We highly recommend this B&B for a warm Dutch getaway.
The staff were amazing, all were extremely friendly and helpful. The hotel is situated right in the center of Haarlem close to all amenities. The bar and restaurant is fantastic, the food is just superb. If you're looking for a slower paced holiday with a nice easy vibe, go to Haarlem. You can still get to Amsterdam in 15 minutes, Leiden in 20, and Alkmaar in 40 if you need to. I will definitely return and stay at this hotel.
The staff was accommodating and so very friendly! They let us store our baggage and delivered it to our room when it was ready while we were out. There is an elevator! Location was wonderful. Would absolutely stay again. Haarlem is an exceptionally friendly place with lots to see and do. Stay here if you want to be near Amsterdam, a short train ride away, but away from the crowds and hotel prices of Amsterdam.
The rooms are super clean and newly refurbished. The double beds are really big and extremely comfortable, the bed linen is new and clean. The location is just 10 min. walk from the Haarlem railway station and 5 min. walk to the city center and all cafes and restaurants in Haarlem. The city of Haarlem is just 20 min on the direct train to Amsterdam Centraal. We’ll definitely stay at this hotel next time!
Access to station and also old town in Haarlem is excellent. Rooms are modern in comfort and space yet you can be walking amidst old world charm in moments. Staff really stepped up and saved me when I forgot my passport in the hotel safe. They didn't just retrieve it, they ran in a moment where I was on an incredibly tight deadline to catch the Eurostar. And I did!
Lovely place in the middle of Haarlem. Large room and bathroom, excellent bed. Space and luxury at a very reasonable rate.
Chose Brass Suites in Haarlem in preference of equally priced hotels in Amsterdam that offer much less in the space and services space.
Quirks like the lift only add rather than retract from the experience.
Highly recommended.
It is in a good location. We walked around town every day. It was only a few minutes walk to restaurants, stores, the canal, and interesting places to visit. I liked the kitchen. We bought food for breakfast and to make sandwiches. Then we enjoyed the local restaurants for our other meals. Haarlem was so nice. It wasn’t as crowded as Amsterdam.
Comfortable clean and quiet. It was a perfect location, given that Amsterdam was overrun for the tulip festival. Haarlem is a beautiful city with plenty of interesting things to do and great dining - The Niu Dairy was close to all of them, and a short walk to the train station for a quick ride to Amsterdam. Good breakfast.
We stayed for two nights and the location was perfect. The walking distance both to the main station (to take the train to the beach or Amsterdam), where the parking garage ist located, as well as to the city centre are very short. A huge bonus: the hotel is in a very very quiet street, so the nights were highly relaxing.
Location was excellent - easy to get around Haarlem by bike or bus or on foot. Amsterdam very easy to get to by train or bus. The place itself was clean, comfortable and of such a high standard. The owners were incredibly helpful and provided a well-stocked fridge as part of the service.
Lovely hotel. Interior and exterior was beautiful. Staff all very friendly and very helpful. Room cleaned everyday although could opt-out of this if we wanted which was good. Good location and great links to central Amsterdam. Near a supermarket too which is handy when you have kids.
Beautifully restored old building, great care taken with the decor. Very comfortable beds, nice hot showers, excellent breakfast and good advice on local restaurants. Fabulous location, easy access to everything in Haarlem and schipol Airport and train into Amsterdam
Convenient, quiet location close to a large park but a short walk to the main part of Haarlem. Bus station was nearby. The room and bed were very comfortable. Reception helped us book a train before our departure and arranged a taxi for Amsterdam Centraal.
Spacious room and bathroom with separate shower and tub; location to center; amazing light blocking drapes. Decor of staircase and dome in lobby a treat to see. Great to come back to relative tranquility after visiting Amsterdam or Hague.
Very pretty and comfortable room in the heart of Haarlem. Good location and easy access via public transport to Amsterdam Central and Airport. Lovely breakfast served each morning. Fresh flowers in our room was a beautiful touch.
The hotel is in an ideal location for a stay in Haarlem. In my view Haarlem is a better base for a stay in The Netherlands than Amsterdam. It has excellent transport links to both Amsterdam and Schiphol.
Haarlem was all the charm of Holland and none of the touristy yuk of Amsterdam. It was all so charming and the shopping was great! The hotel was perfect in every way. Breakfast was to die for!!
