New ZealandWe were in Cockle Cottage - very nice indeed. Beautifully fitted out with exceptionally good quality furniture and kettle/toaster and pretty little extra ornaments that matched the decor. They have gone to a lot of trouble to make it very homely and very comfortable.

It is such a quiet little spot but with amenities necessary for a beach stay - grocery supermarket and a coffee shop!
The Beach itself is perfect with golden sands, a little surf, and a place for quiet reflection.

Great beach and good location to explore the far North area.
Great beach and good location to explore the far North area. We took a bus tour up to Cape Reinga which was a real highlight and explored nearby Cape Karikari in our car. We ate our dinners at Mangonui, a 5 minute drive from Coopers Beach

It's a lovely beachside area with relatively calm waters.
It's a lovely beachside area with relatively calm waters. Would be good to base yourself here for a few days to explore the surrounding area. Only about a 90minute drive to Cape Reinga.
November is still a little too cold in the water for a Queensland bloke to swim.

Doubtless Bay is a great place and reflects the true heart...
Doubtless Bay is a great place and reflects the true heart of New Zealand as one of the best holiday locations in the South Pacific. The waters are warm and the golden beaches are always inviting.
The supermarket at Coopers Beach is superb for range of products and good wines.
Thai Restaurant in Mangonui is, in our humble opinion, offers some of the best food and wine in the North and the Green Curry Chicken is the best tasted in a long time.
In summation one of the best short breaks we have had for quite a while and the waves breaking will give you a great nights sleep!

We rented 2 appartments the periwinkle was adequate and what...
We rented 2 appartments the periwinkle was adequate and what we expected. The Cockle was a disappointment as it was advertised on their website as air conditioned and there was no air conditioning. It was so hot and our guests in Cockle were uncomfortable and upset.
The owner didn’t care and said it was a buget apartment but we rented it in good faith as it was listed as air con etc.
I emailed and messaged her throughout our 4 day stay and she never apologised or compensated us .

Classic NZ beach, white sand and pohutakawa trees for shade.
Classic NZ beach, white sand and pohutakawa trees for shade. Lovely beach for walking and swimming. Close to the Mangonui fish n chip shop for easy dinners. A good central location for exploring Northland's many beautiful beaches. An easy and relaxing place to be.

Delightfully charming accommodation in a stunning location. We stayed here with our two daughters aged 8 and 5 years, who spent many happy hours collecting shells and playing in the little stream in front of the hotel. There's also a playground right next door, which our daughters loved.
The location is also great for day trips to the wider Far North, like Cape Reinga and Matauri Bay.
Already hoping to come back soon.

The villa is emaculate, stylish and comfortable. There is a playground within walking distance, and a literal 1 min walk to the beach - which the kids loved. We could hear the waves and had an amazing view of the ocean. The owners are super friendly and helpful. The location is a perfect spot between the shops in Coopers Beach and Mangonui.

EXcellent location at Coopers Beach in the north of New Zealand, a quiet spot with great views of the beach and water. Right on the waterfront with easy access to the beach. Also good access to walks including to Rangikapiti Pā which has 360 degree views of the surrounds. Comfortable studio room and access to a laundry

This property has very easy access directly to the amazingly beautiful Coopers Beach. The evening sunset from the generous deck are stunning. The kitchen is reasonably well equipped and there are comfortable couches to relax on.
