I came after 50 years thinking of seeing a town but I found a big city, lots of stores and restaurants. We love eating at the Olympic restaurant. It is a lot to do in Huancayo that two full days were not enough.

Awesome places to visit are: - Torre torre: Huge very impresive natural earth tower formations. - Arwaturo ruins on top of hill near Ñahuinpuquio lake, very nice view of the lake and the Mantaro valley. - Convento de Ocopa church, wonderful outside and inside as well. - To eat you have to try the trout (trucha) and papa a la huancaina.

We're an older fit couple but found it tiring.
We're an older fit couple but found it tiring. Awful traffic lots of poverty stray dogs etc. So it wasnt easy. However the outskirts are very green and a visit to the trout farm and restaurants well worth the trip in El Ingenio. Also an interesting convent, closed Tuesdays the day we went of course!

The staff , Husband and wife, went an extra mile to make my father feels confortable: provided a different pillow and an electric blanket to him. Breakfast was really good, delicious coffee and bread of the region. I hardly recommend "La casa de Justi" , they were awesome. Rosa and her husband know good places like where to find "gelatina de patita", that was delicious; and a good taxi driver. Thank you for all your help

Irma and Jose were great hosts and despite the language barrier went above and beyond to help us make the most of our time in Huancayo, they were very warm and made it a real highlight of our time in Peru. Would highly recommend to anyone visiting Huancayo. Also breakfast was great and had variety everyday!
